Super User rockchalk06 Posted July 4, 2012 Super User Posted July 4, 2012 I got up early this morning and hit Lake Hefner again. Windy as hell with no luck. One last stop before I went home, stopped at one of the fishing docks. Had a guy come out on the dock and struck up a conversation. Turns out it was OK BASS HUNTER. Fished and talked for about an hour and half. Really nice guy. He even hooked a 21" sogeye right off the dock. Small world. Might have a new fishing partner! Quote
OK Bass Hunter Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 It was a very nice suprise. Found me a fishing buddy and a forum member all at once. It was a good day and a nice fish too. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 4, 2012 Global Moderator Posted July 4, 2012 We had a small get together for the KC area guys about a month ago and had a really good time. We had a little bragging rights tourny and grilled some food afterwards. It was a lot of fun (minus one hook to the hand that required an ER visit). Quote

I'd like to get something together for the guys around here, but the bass fishing isnt all that great around central OK Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 5, 2012 Global Moderator Posted July 5, 2012 It isn't good around KC either, we drove an hour south to Melvern Lake where the fishing is much better! We talked about doing it closer just to meet up with everyone but we decided it would be better just to plan it far enough in advance to give people a chance to get the day off or make the plans they needed to make and whoever wanted to be there could be there. Everyone caught some fish, many caught their first smallmouths, and we had some good eats afterwards. Quote

One of the biggest things I hated about leaving Kansas was the great bash fishing. And of course monster bucks! Quote
