BASSHUNTER1961 Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Does anyone know for sure who makes the Pro Qualifier Baitcast reel for BPS? I just bought one last night, and love it. It sure does look a lot like the Lew's Speed Spool. Quote
Diggy Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 They come from the same factory...so I hear...abus also 1 Quote
21farms Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 the owner of lew's, lynn reeves, was actually BPS's merchandise manager. i'm sure he leveraged a bunch of his existing manufacturing sources. Quote
Super User LgMouthGambler Posted July 4, 2012 Super User Posted July 4, 2012 Lews, BPS, Fleuger, all the same. Not original at all. Did I mention that Shimano is their own? LOL. Waiting for the comments............. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted July 4, 2012 Super User Posted July 4, 2012 Did you also know Daiwa is too? Being a sole design just means its not shared. It doesn't matter. But to the OP, they're all from the same factory and basically a Pure Fishing brand reel. Abu flooger, bps, lews are from the same people. But this does NOT mean they all have the same quality, and or quality control. Quote

dave Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 I have been a diehard Shimanoite for years. I did pick up a PQ recently. I have to say, I really like it. (so far) Quote

j.bruno Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Shimanoite is that like a hutterite or more like a mennonite ? Quote
Super User *Hootie Posted August 24, 2012 Super User Posted August 24, 2012 Luddite? Good nite. Hootie Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted August 24, 2012 Super User Posted August 24, 2012 I heard that PQs are made by Galadriel's elves who have not yet left for the West... When comparing Shimanoites to other "religious/political" groups, Zealotry is what often comes to mind-not the rank and file Shimano believers, just the more 'enthusiastic' ones. Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted August 25, 2012 Super User Posted August 25, 2012 I'm sure Hooligan will be along shortly to tell you that you're wrong. Ya just can't resist, can ya? Neither can I! Pflueger doesn't make BPS reels. Hell, pflueger doesn't even maker pflueger's reels! They don't own a manufacturing facility. Truth be told, almost none of the BPS reels or the Pure Fishing reels are made in the same facility anymore. There are a couple instances in which they are, but those are rare. Quote
