I for one doesn't have a problem with him keeping his catch of his life so far. Not many people will have multiple taxidermy fish anyways and if they do it'll be only 2-4. It's the people that poach and exceeds their limit that puts a hit in bass population. It's his right to keep that fish under the regulations.

I have hope none of you guys posting don't hunt or know people that hunts. A male buck is consider a trophy but it seems a fish gets more protected by the public.
