I was going to suggest everything that you said you use. I have had success with jigs and senkos in cover. Buy my go to is a jig. I use a 3/4 ounce berkley black and blue jig with a havoc craw on it. That seems to get me a nice big one. And as far as senkos senkos r the bass killer they almost always work no matter what the condition is. If you are using a weightless senko try it weighted and if you are using a weighted senko try it weightless. Also the time of day and temperature is a big factor in locating the big bass.

It's that time of year when the fishin really slows down, targeting big bass is always on our minds everytime we go out, the best advice I can give is first of all find a bite of any kind and see what they are wanting, or if you know the big 'uns are in the cover you are fishing, then slow way down, the fish are not going to expend any energy for a meal if they dont have to, so it will take some time for them to decide how bad they want it.

So my thoughts would be to pitch a jig in and around there and work it very slow, also my other go to bait under and around cover is the drop shot, it seems to get more of a reaction than the jig does under some pretty tuff conditions.

Good luck and be safe !!!

thnaks for the help i have black and blue jig with a yum crawdad . A dirty green/ red jig.. I havent had any luck with that i slowed down found a piece of timber, then i just kept working it real hard running over it, stopping on it and riseing then letting it drop but i got nothing.. most of the time i catch quite of few fish but when i find out what they like i just keep hooking up with the mid to smaller ones of the bunch. im not complaing about catching fish tho! haha im just going to really slow down and work the area better

soo night and early am fishing would be the best to start with ?

Top water, then I switch to plastics.

Try dead sticking the jig, then slowing dragging it. This is what gets my 80% of my fish lately

Put the frog back on and slooooooooooooooow dooooooooooooooown. :-)

Good luck!

If there's any brush you could try banging a spinner bait off it. If a fast presentation like that doesn't work try something slow like a T-rig. Early morning/evening try some top water over brush stumps. Try a buzz bait. popper or even a jitterbug usually black works best for me around these times.

Around here early AM is the best. Even at sunset its still 90 plus degrees here. At sun up around 545, its still 75 degrees.

I know your frustration. Seems when I cant find a bit to save my life, a popper always brings out a fish albeit a munchkin, its still a fish

Deadsticking a jig means letting it sit there for a long time. Like a dead stick.

As far as your frogging issues goes, its probably not the frog but your setup. Are you using braid? If not, you should be. You need that no stretch property when frogging. Also, wait until you feel the fish before you rip his lip.
