bocabasser Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 fished a tourny out of slims today and won with 20.86 pounds. we also had big fish 7.86. we caught at least 60 fish from sun up til noon, then the bite was gone. glad we sacked 'em when we did. here is a cheesy pic of the 7 pounder and our smallest fish. all fish were caught on spinnerbaits and rattle traps. Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted June 30, 2012 Super User Posted June 30, 2012 What was that you were saying about a squirrel finding a nut, Bruce? Way to go. You're on a freakin roll right now man. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted June 30, 2012 Super User Posted June 30, 2012 Way to go, Bruce. I wish I had known there was a tourny outta Slim's because I would have fished it too. My buddy fished some BASS tournament last week out of Clewiston. I think there were 28 boats. 4 boats had over 30 pounds and 18 boats had over 20. Quote
piscicidal Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Slims tourney is the last Saturday and second Sunday of each month. I fished it for the first time today. That fish Bruce has in his left hand is bigger than the bag I would have weighed (I didn't bother). It's a completely different lake than a week ago. Talked to a couple buddies who fished today, one who fished that BASS tourney. The flipping bite is completely gone. I tried my hand offshore today. Didn't catch a fish out there. There's a lot of freaking water on Okeechobee! (duh) I got a lot to learn about that offshore deal... Congrats to you Bruce. 20 lbs is awesome on a day like today...there were only a few bags over 10. You got em on call out there! Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted July 1, 2012 Super User Posted July 1, 2012 Thans for the info. I'll see u out there in a few Sundays from now. Whats the fee and can you pay at the ramp. Can I just show up or do I need to contact someone first? Quote
gar-tracker Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Nice I fished up north and caught a bunch of fish but biggest was about 4, I had about 16 pounds. Good Job. Last Saturday 1st Sunday, so today would be the next one? Edit too add: I see, second Sunday never mind Quote

Super User South FLA Posted July 1, 2012 Super User Posted July 1, 2012 Nothing like Summer bass fishing on the Lake if you can take the heat, Bruce put it to them. Bruce was it your typical open water pattern for this time of year, with bass out on the rocks? Quote
GLADES Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Eric is right, you are on a roll. Keep it going..congrats! Quote
bocabasser Posted July 2, 2012 Author Posted July 2, 2012 thanks fellas. robert i just happened to luck into a significant depth change. i was telling mike that i found water that went from 3.9 to 5.1 feet. it was only an area about 30 yards, but they were crushing traps and spinnerbaits. im hoping that area holds up for next sunday. those fish were super strong. every fish i said "get the net", but it was only a 2 pounder. they all fought like they were 5 pounders. it was a great session! gar-tracker Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 I was up there for the last 3 days, yesterday morning I found some trap fish that were unbelievable, its hard to beat that. I sat there and wore them out. You're right those open water fish fight like mad. Be careful guys that lakes still low, in fact its worse now because a lot of danger is out of view. Quote
