Your Thoughts On The Nba Draft

So how was everyones take on the draft? Myself, I was dissapointed. I think Thomas Robinson should have been a #2 pick or 3 at worst. Letting him drop to 5 was a mistake. The guy is a power house who can play and was taught by Danny Manning.

Kid-Gilcrest doesn't deserve a #2 spot at all. More like a low 2nd round pick. His D game is killer but he cant shoot and struggled all year offensively.

Glad to see P Jones III go to OKC Thunder. He will fit nicely with Perkins and Collision. I have a feeling now since they went with a big, Ibaka is gone for next season. I would rather see Westbrook part than Ibaka but no way OKC can afford what it will take to keep him and Harden

Well, Im a huge OKC fan, so I was glad they got PJIII. I think he was a steal that late in the first round and was ecstatic he fell into thier laps. I dont think they will deal Ibaka next year. To me, Ibaka is more valuable than Harden. Ibaka saves their bad defense at times with blocked shots and his offensive game has drastically improved. Harden is a prolific scorer, but he doesnt fit the system, they need spot up shooters, not 1 on 1 players like Harden. Westbrook can get into the paint at will and if they had shooters around him then they could do just like the Heat did to them, kick out for open 3's. I think you keep Westbrook, Durant, Ibaka and deal Harden. He aint stayin once his contract expires anyway...he wants to be THE man, not the 6th man.

ALso, Im from Louisiana, so I was glad the Hornets got Davis. Im not as high on him as the rest of the world, but he will be solid. I do think they made a good pick at 10 though with Austin Rivers. He is NOT a pg, which is what they needed. They already have a solid sg in Eric Gordon, should have went with Kendall Marshall there. Heck Rivers wasnt even the best sg on the board at 10...Jeremy Lamb was still there. THey did get a steal at 46 with Darius Miller though!! 6'8", tough, and can flat out shoot the ball.

I really enjoy the NBA draft. It's hilarious, its rowdy, and it shows how little draft preparation is really used. The first round is pivotal in the fact that there is a garaunteed contract, the second round is a complete joke. Yet, I watch the whole thing.

New Orleans, Boston, and Golden State did a spectacular job. Doing a good job maximizing their picks. I thought they balanced needs and talent acquisiton nicely.

PJ3 is the steal pick of the draft..He goes to a loaded OKC...fills a need on the bench... now its up to him to perform and with good opportunity to do so.

The big I don't understand of the draft was Dallas. I know they are gunning to free up money for Deron Williams and didn't want to put money into rookies, but I'm not someone that is drinking the championship koolaid of 2011. The team has a lot of age at multiple positions.

Lose OKC's #2 shooter for Ibaka? Come on with that comment. This team went to the NBA playoffs. They know what it's like now and what it is like to lose. You change very little with it. Ibaka and Harden both have their pros and cones. I believe we need to keep Harden. A few more years under his belt and he will be dangerous.

The only thing that worries me about Sullinger is his size.

Sully should have gone last year. He would have been a top 5 pick. He lost millions on staying and now has back trouble.

I've always been partial to Boston. Especially after they drafted Pierce. I really truly thought OKC would end up playing Boston for the title.

True he works really hard and is not a cocking ball hog, but I think his shooting was sub par compared to others.

Last year Perry Jones was alot tuffer than this year. I watched him twice this year play at Kansas and OU. I have an interesting story involving a crash play that got me on ESPN lol

Quality shooting entering the NBA is only moderately important.. there are plenty of players that couldn't hit the broadside of a barn and learned to shoot after entering a few seasons in the pros.

That was my only argument. He was Illinois big man this year, lots of height, not much else to make him a #11 pick

The college players drafted need to bulk up to play in the NBA. They looked tall and skinny.

Otherwise, it was interesting.

this is Meyers Leonards combine stats that I found on a draft site.

30" no-step vert, 32.5" max vert, 19 bench, 11.34 lane agility, 3.41 sprint

Leonard's stock has been on the rise lately, and his performance at the combine can only help. His 30" no-step vert will help him compete on the glass and finish lob passes from teammates. Benching 185 lbs 19 times is a testament to his strength and we already know he runs well for somebody that recently measured over 7'1" in shoes. Athletic centers are always a commodity in the NBA draft, and Leonard satisfies that criteria and then some.
