basslover12345 Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 I just submitted my first article to Glenn, on Swimbait fishing with Paul Hirosky and James Niggemeyer, and have another 20 ideas for articles to write for Bass resource, but can't decide next: 1. Throwing musky lures for big bass- 2. The pork frog pioneers (those who threw pork chunks on their jigs) 3. The quest for natural looking fishing lures- 4. Fishing pads for bass- 5. From Wigglers to Buzzers, how to fish them 6. Slack line worm fishing- 7. It’s how you adapt your worm- 8. Fighting a “green” bass 9. Spinning gear for smallmouth 10. When to use a long rod- 11. Thin or thick fishing line 12. Warm, Muddy spinnerbaits 13. Choose your bling (Spinnerbait blade size) 14. Topwater Puppets (different retrieves) 15. The Speed set (hook-set) 16. Fishing Mini-Lakes 17. Swimming a grub for schoolers 18. The Unknown Factor (water PH) 19. Backwards Lures 20. Winning combination: Shad and Rocks Quote
Super User islandbass Posted June 27, 2012 Super User Posted June 27, 2012 Those are all good subjects. Put them on pieces of paper, put them in a hat and draw. I'd love to see #8, #14, and #15 but I'd explore it along the lines of "hook sets and line type..." Quote
ToddP Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 I agree, all good choices. I would choose #20 then #18. Quote
Texfisherman Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 We're coming into Summertime, so maybe articles that deal with summertime environments and summertime fishing, like vegetation. Just brainstorming here. Quote
Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted June 28, 2012 Super User Posted June 28, 2012 The topic I read in replies most relates to #11-- line visibility. I had my best outing with thin white line (nanofil) its said that white is the worst but didnt hinder me. I use timber brown colored line and weeds Ive brought in were the exact same color as the line so might matching the line to weed growth be beneficial? Can you do underwater camera testing of various lines give results? I read people say "I fished braid 3 hrs no bite put on a leader caught a fish" Well Ive fished for 3hrs no bite on next cast caught a fish didnt change a thing so whats that prove. Maybe that next cast without leader would have resulted in a fish. Quote
scrutch Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 All good choices. I'd pick #20 to start. Another idea is finding fish when a thermocline exists. Quote
Super User Lund Explorer Posted June 29, 2012 Super User Posted June 29, 2012 #21 - How to bounce back from a tournament goose egg! Not trying to pick on you, but the topic could end up being a teachable moment for the author as well as the readers. Quote
"Lunker Hunter" Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 I would like to read Topwater Puppets (different retrieves) or Fishing Mini-Lakes Quote
Super User rockchalk06 Posted June 30, 2012 Super User Posted June 30, 2012 Top Water. Its my favorite Quote
