Golf Vs Fishing

I'm glad all those people golf, can you imagine how busy the lakes would be if all golfers started to fish.

my biggest bass has came from a golf course pond

i love both and have worked in both industries

most of my fishing buddies also golf

now tennis on the other hand

Yes, but how busy are they? In my area there are numerous lakes and a handful of guides who would call a three trip week a busy week. I know that the guides at well known fishing lakes are probably busier. When I was in the golf business I would average 20 lessons a week. Almost all of my fellow nearby golf pros did the same. There is more interest in golf from the public partially because of the efforts of the PGA of America's grass roots campaign to teach the game. There are so many differences that you really can't compare the two.

Golf: Boring as hell to watch

Fishing: Exciting to watch

Golf: Interesting to play

Fishing: Depends on how well you fish

Golf:No adrenaline except when you hit somebody or their car and walk briskly away

Fishing: Adrenaline during and after every hookup

I will Golf once a month with my boss, but fish almost every week, putting a small “ball” into the hole is not really fun…LOL

I started playing golf when I was 8. Cost then was $1.25 for 9 holes...2.50 for 18. No carts...had to walk. I worked the last 12 years on a golf course here in west TN, and that just about soured me on golf for the rest of my life.

When i got into bass fishing, crankbaits were about $1.25 each. 'Nuff said.

Like you, I started playing golf when I was quite young though I'm not sure what the cost was. My father had a family membership that he paid, so all through high school golf was something I thought of as free! Now that I'm nearing retirement, quite a few of my friends have part-time jobs at one local course or another. Mowing greens or fairways three mornings a week for minimum wage along with the side benefit of a free 18 hole round of golf each day sounded like just the ticket to keep me out from under the wife's glare.
