I'm thinking about pairing up either a quantum exo or a smoke with a mojo bass 7' mh by st croix. These are within range of my spending limit. If anyone has any feedback on my dilemma that would be cool.

i love my smoke, for my holow frogs, i have felt the exo, dont like it, i cant tell ya why, i havent fished with it, i was told that is has more cheaper inerds, idk how true that is, it is from a bps worker, some at my bass pro, are fishermen but some are sellers, so take it with a grain of salt.

One of the guys in my club has 3 smokes and said the gears in 2 of them were destroyed after only 3 or 4 months of fishing. I've never had an issue with quantum so I think they may have been some kind of fluke, but who knows. The thing you should do is grab a abu garcia veritas instead of a mojo bass. I have two veritas rods a 6'9" MH and a 7' H and they're amazing for only $100 bucks.

yep if you fish em hard they're gonna get grindish. I don't think the gear material used is up to snuff

i have been using my smoke in the sloppiest places known to man, not pull 5 lbers out, but 4 months and mine is strong/

also not a sponser of abu, but hands down veritas is the best 100 buck rod out there, i may even take it to the bank

I have the Smoke 100 and the 150, they have been fished hard for over a year and I have no trouble, in fact I think the Smoke is the best reel Quantum has ever made. I haven't fished the EXO so I can't comment on it.
