sfc_Allen Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Just got back into fishing after a long time away. Love to take the kids out, but need to find the time to head out myself. Wish i had a boat because shore fishing stinks around me. Been lurking for sometime trying to learn more and understand. I think i've gotten lots of great info from this site so far. VR Earle Quote

sfc_Allen Posted June 26, 2012 Author Posted June 26, 2012 Welcome! Good to see a fellow North Carolinian! Where do you live in NC? Raeford....Not to many spots around here to fish from the shore...Maybe i can find a decent spot somewhere on Mott Lake Quote
dale.m Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 If you are willing to drive about an hour and a half, then Randleman Lake is a great place to fish. I live in Greensboro so I'm not to sure of many places around Raeford. I'm sure you will find a local honey hole soon. Quote

StinkyBass Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 id love to have a boat, but opted for the "poor mans boat" and bought a kayak. turns out i love the kayak, forgot about the boat (for now) and do pretty well on it. i like it cause i can just though it and my gear in the back of the truck and head out. i can usually dodge ramp fees because you can launch from almost anywhere. i have also found a lake here in VA that has stumpy area were boats cant get to, guess what? "unpressured" fish! just lookin for you to find a way to get out there but anyways WELCOME! Quote
