I picked up a Tec-Spec at Dick's Sporting Goods this week and think it's an outstanding value. It's the 6'8" M XF designed for finesse fishing weightless worms, lite jigs and grubs. The rod casts a weightless worm with ease, and has great sensitivity and feel. I really like the reel seat as it has a double lock down and will not come loose. I put my Phlueger President 6935 on it and the balance is very nice. They were on sale for $49.00 and could not pass it up.

You could have probably added a ten dollar off coupon to that also

If you like it and enjoy fishing with it that is what counts.

Are they not decent rods? Seems like a good rod for the money. I read two reviews where someone broke it in three pieces reeling in a fish, but I can't imagine that happening to this rod.

my dad has 7' mh that I have handled and fished with a few times. He loves it, and I think it is a really nice rod. I think I will buy one for myself at some point in time. Glad you like it, and hope you catch some big girls on it!

I have the 7' MH Tec Spec spinning rod and for t-rigs,worms and jigs and its a great rod for the full price and even better on sale. I've also used it for frogs and heavier top water lures and while thats not the intended usage of the rod it has handle everything very well. My rod is going on 2 yrs now without one issue and it is very sensitive be it with braid, co-polymer or fluoro.
