Have you tried any of the G Loomis deep flex rods in their crank series?? My deep diving rod is the G Loomis CBR864 DF. The only rod I use with my deep divers - the deep flex is amazing. I promise if you get one, you won't regret it.

I haven't yet but I'll look into them now! Thanks for the comment!

I see I see so should I just buy that same rod in MH? Which would be the Dobyns 765cb glass 7'6" MH but has a fast tip.

I think you will like the 765 glass it has softer tip to let the crank do its searching and doesn't rip the crank out the fishes mouth bc rod loads up alot better. But has enough back bone to get the fish in no prob. I can cast a mile with this thing. Ive noticed that the fish normally have the crank deeper in their mouth since using the glass rod. Personally i love it.

You like this rod for deep cranks? 15-20'? And it doesn't bend the rod making it look like your hooked up every single retrieve? I just don't want a rod that bends like that when I throw my KVD 6XDs. Because that's all I want this rod for. Is to throw big boys.

I think cranking rods have to have some kinda bend to them, but its not no wet noodle feel like your talking. I throw 6xd's and is not bent over like your saying.

Ok sweet I'll check out that rod too. That 765cb rm 7'6" medium wasn't cutting it.

So I'm looking at the 765 Glass, 804cb, and the 805cb rm any thoughts between these three?

Any rod you use is going to bend on the retrieve. By nature, DD22's have a lot of resistance on the retrieve due to the large diving bill.

That said, if you're going dedicated, you'll want a rod that was made for DD22's. And that would be the 805CBRM. This rod has awesome sensitivity, length for casting, and a good parabolic bend to keep fish buttoned during the fight.

Good luck!

BTW, the 765 glass is great for deep divers, but based on your replies I'm guessing it would have too soft of an action for what you want.
