What Worm Hook Do You Use

Owner offset shank in 2/0 thru 5/0 or BPS Magna EWG in 4/0 or 5/0.

I've also been using the BPS Magna EWG hooks and have been very impressed so far. Once in awhile I'll roll a point if I snag a rock or stump but at about $8 for a 20 pack I can afford it. They're similar to Gammy superline EWG's but at about 1/3 the price.

I have actually been using the regular bps hooks for awhile, but I'm starting to roll the points pretty regular with them. I got a pack of the heavy wire oshagussaney type but don't like them too much. Maybe I will try the ewg version. I generally don't like ewg as much, I seem to not hook quit as many fish with them for some reason. The bps hooks are sharp and affordable though!

I will agree with the statement about not hooking up with as many on the EWG, seems like the angle on the hook kinda point it down more. But it isn't too much of a problem to where I won't use them

I've always used an off set hook for soft plastics but recently changed to the skip back style.

I feel it holds much better.

I'm hooked on Gamakatsu EWG worm hooks. I use 2/0-5/0 most often. I've not had any problems with not hooking up, and I like how the point angles in a bit making it almost completely weedless without tucking the point into the worm.

It depends on what kind of worm but I have 3 brands and styles I like. I like the Eagle Claw Laser Sharp EWG light wire hooks, I also like the Gamakatsu EWG superline hooks, and I like the Trokar TK-100 HD worm hook. If I'm texas rigging say a 7" power worm around sparse cover or floating docks I will use the light wire laser sharps, the reason I like them is they penetrate really well without the cutting point of a Gammy or Owner and I rarely miss a fish when I set the hook using the light wire models. Now if I'm fishing the same worm or a Big Moe around grass and laydowns I'll use the Gammy super line hooks, the cutting poit helps get it through the plastic as I will keep the hook point buried when fishing in cover, and the thicker wire is needed as I'm using heavy mono or braid. The Trokar HD worm hook is what I like to use for soft jerkbaits like my River Rock Baits Jointed Jerkbait, or Super Fluke, the soft jerkbaits stay on this hook without sliding down when fishing the bait aggressively, when I was fishing those baits with an EWG hook every time I would work the bait fast it had a tendency to slide down the hook over the offset forcing me to keep fixing it or having to use super glue to hold it in place but not anymore, the bait stays in place great on the TK-100.

Owner and Trokar offsets for 90% of my fishing. I very very rarely will use EWGs anymore because of hookup problems.

Laser sharp, Gamakatsu, and Trokar- all in EWG. I think I have a higher percentage on hookups with the EWG. I like the idea of having more space for the plastic to go and clear the hook on the hookset.

I use a a number of different hooks for different situations but my go-to hook is a BPS 4/0 off-set shank.

I like thin wire for weightless soft plastics, thicker gauge for most weighted presentations.

The 4/0 EWG Offset Worm Hook is an all-around size, but I carry 1/0-6/0. I fish several

brands: Gamakatsu, Moaner (Mustad), VMC, Owner and Trokar.

You would be surprised. I use Gamagatsu super line hooks when I'm in heavy cover simply due to the cutting point as I keep the hook buried in the plastic but is sparse cover with weightless worms or light texas rigs the laser sharps work really well and I even use them in tournaments. Eagle Claw gets a bad rap but the laser sharps aren't your fathers old eagle claws, they are quality hooks without a doubt.

Owner Cutting Point. Straight shank, EWG, etc etc.

I haven't found a better hook for the price versus performance. I still have some Gamakatsu hooks that see use, but that's starting to get less and less.

Gamakatsu offset hooks 80% of the time, size depends on the size of the bait. Sometimes when using smaller baits, like finese worms I will use a EWG hook.

Trokar straight shenk flippin hooks for most Texas rig, gama EWG 3/0-5/0 for weightless and gama weedless finesse hooks

I use the Gamakatsu Skip Gap EWG in 3/0-5/0 90% of the time. The hook is great at reducing the amount the head of a plastic slides down the shank

gama or owner 3-5/0 EWG. Also got a free pack of troakers that I like but they dont have them at my local tackle shop. Not so great that I would wait for them over Gamas/

Gamakatsu 3/0 worm hooks are great and so are the Mustad power lock plus. The Mustads are my favorite
