dudemanbro Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Hi I have a curado 50e and it started making a really bad squeaking noise every time I reel. Is there something I can do for a quick fix or will I need to get the reel serviced? Keep in mind I've never opened up a bait caster and have no idea where to apply lube. Any help is greatly appreciated. Quote
Super User LgMouthGambler Posted June 23, 2012 Super User Posted June 23, 2012 You can do it yourself by following the schematics and being very carefull to place the parts on a towel the way you took them off and follow manufacturers suggestions. Or you can send it to DVT. Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted June 23, 2012 Super User Posted June 23, 2012 Send it to a pro, the squeaking could be dry gears which need grease or it could be a bad bearing, either way if you don't feel comfortable trying it yourself, send it to someone who knows, that reel is well worth a few dollars to keep it going. Super User J Francho Posted June 23, 2012 Super User Posted June 23, 2012 Well, hit the stuff on that page first. Then if it still squeaks, look at that stuff. Quote
