BFG79 Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Hey guys I have narrowed (kind of lol) my choices down to a few and would love to have some input from you. I am considering the following: Powell Endurance 7'2" MH XF Phenix Recon 7'1" MH F Dobyn's Savvy 7' MH F Cashion 7' MH F Big Bear 2012 7' MH F Shimano Crucial 7'2 MH F or XF (have held both, the XF seems like it would have too stiff of a tip to throw senkos without tons of cast offs, but open to opinions) Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Quote
bassinKS Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 I love all of my dobyns rods so that is the route I would go I'm changing all my rods to sinus actually u think the 703 or 704 would be perfect for what you want Quote
Jake P Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 I have only fished the crucial out of all of those and i love it. Im not sure how the XF would be too stiff but the F wouldnt? XF would have more give then a F action. In the crucials case i would go with the XF. I had a 6'6" MH XF i used for plastics a while ago and it was awesome. Quote
MrSwimJig Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 The Crucial should be fine, I would personally go with the MH/XF version. Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted June 23, 2012 Super User Posted June 23, 2012 Did you just want one rod for all three applications? To me, that is three different applications and I have a different rod for each one of those techniques. I throw a lot of senkos, and I've got a Falcon 6'10" Eakins jib special that works great for that. It has a little too much tip for jig weights over 3/8 or so. Quote
Super User webertime Posted June 23, 2012 Super User Posted June 23, 2012 I use a Recon 715 for what you describe, but it is always hard to say no to a Dobyns. I LOVE my Recons Quote

BassinNY Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 I have that Powell Rod and Love it!! Light, Sensitive, Quality components. Couldn't ask for more out of that rod. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted June 24, 2012 Super User Posted June 24, 2012 I'd go with the crucial, recon, or endurance. Quote
Northern Strain Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 I have a crucial for those applications and it works great. Quote
