So my friend and I (he's a member here) went down and bought ourselves a 12 foot jon boat last night. We got up this morning and fished for about 2 hours on a small neighborhood pond. It was instantly gratifying to be able to reach all the spots we wanted to fish before, but couldn't because of no shoreline access. We did alright, catching 2 a piece, one of them was between 2 and 3 lbs which is not bad for that pond. We started getting a lot of bites fishing this laydown with a pumpkin/chartreuse worm. I hooked what seemed like a decent sized one there but he instantly dragged it down into the branches and my line snapped, oh well.

Great first day on the boat!

The best kind of boat to have to reach those impossible areas. Many good times to you and the new floatation device.

Haha glad you posted this Adam! We did have a blast today out on the water! Being able to fish spots that were previously unreachable is truly awesome. Adam caught the first bass, so he gets to name the boat. Here's a few pictures...

Adam's first.

We went out again around 7:30 to the same pond but didn't have any luck. I think it was because a storm system was moving through our area. Oh well....they'll be there another time.

WTG and congrats on the boat ;) fished them for many years and some of my fondest fishing memories! I still have 1 small rig (Pelican), for fishing the certain waters at times...
