I've been a gun-guy a lot longer than I've been a fisherman (or do we say Angler here?), shooting has been a long time hobby for me. So it's nice to see that there's a place for the gun culture on this forum!

Anyway, after looking through all four pages here, I've deduced there aren't nearly enough gun-guys (or gals) posting in this section!

So, here's an opportunity to post up your gun pics. I'll kick it off with my carry weapon, but if you'd like to post some pics of your collection, cabinet, or safe, go right ahead!

I carry a Springfield XD .45 in stainless. It's the compact version with the shorter grip for the 10rd mags which I keep in it day to day. I have several other 13 and 10 round mags for it that I've bought over the years. I keep a few 'extras' in the car/truck with me.

That's a nice collection. You seem to have an affinity for the wood. It looks like there's some coca-boa in there, and some walnut.

I was fondling over an American Classic Amigo 1911 the other day... I've been reading about them ever since I read Bersa was working them. I just found it locally, but they're asking $599 for the blued version, I'm kind of after the stainless.

nice Kimber btw.

I just got into them and I'm a cheap guy for now I have a Taurus Tracker 627 .357525945_472218952805897_1422714258_n.jpg

My next one might be the PX4 .40 cal unless I find bad reviews on it.

Here is a pic when I bought this about a year ago, I've done some cosmetic touches since then, I'll have to try and get a recent pic up.

How do you like the tracker? I couldn't get past the 5 round .44 mag and lost interest in it, although I hear it's a wonderful hog leg!!

Oh, and the first time I had range-time with an PX4 I just about had to change trousers. The PX4 has a de-cocker integrated into it's safety, and when you safety the weapon the hammer falls with the same force as it does when you squeeze the trigger.... it was a nice firing gun, comfortable and all to shoot, but Good lord that was butt-clincher.

When you say 'extended mag' I'm curious what you mean. I'm not up & up on Delaware's gun laws.... Are you limited to a specific magazine capacity like DC & Cali? I recall the G17 having a 17 round mag capacity to start with...

Cute...

You know, at least 6 other people have said the same thing about that picture? It's a really old photo of the XD, and my finger is NOT on the trigger, but for some reason, the way I have my finger set on the guard, it looks like it... Funny photo magic....

I have the standard 17round magazines, just one of them (not pictured) has the extended baseplate. For a total of 20 rounds in the mag, 1 in the hole. No restrictions on capacity here!

This is my Sub compact 9mm XD with Trijicon's in a Crossbreed holster. However my full size 45 XD fits in the same holster.

What are you running ammunition-wise, Keeper?

I've never understood people who depend on 9mm as their primary carry weapon.... So I am intrigued when I come across someone who does. I'd say I am 'more than interested' in what you're running for SD ammo.

I run winchester Bonded PDX-1 230's these days, but I have run Hornady XTP & FTP +P loads, and Federal Hydra-Shok's... I've been on the 'hunt' for some Federal HST's for quite a while but no one retails them, and gunshows never have them. They are apparently sold to the LEO community only, although they are not considered illegal for civilian ownership or use...

I've never understood the folks that think a .45 is some sort of magic death ray that causes instant incapacitation. ;)

9mm allows for a smaller framed gun to have a much higher capacity than the larger calibers, faster followup shots, wide selection of ammo, "plinking" ammo is 1/2 the price of .45 which means more time spent at the range, etc.

I've carried almost every mainstream caliber from .25 to .45 over the years (with the exception of .44 Mag and .44 Special), and there isn't a single one of them that won't do its job if you do yours. These days, what I value more than bore diameter is reliability. If it goes bang when I want it to and hits where I point it, I'm fine with it.

Kahr CM9 in a TJ Edmond Leatherworks custom IWB, and a M&P9c in a DeSantis Intruder (ignore the coat of drywall dust on it, I'm renovating a bathroom). I bounce back and forth between the two, depending on what I'm wearing and where I'm going. The M&P gets the nod 90-95% of the time, though.

Preposterous!!! .45 ACP is superior to all others, and I refuse to believe otherwise!

...lol

In all reality, I want a .44 Mag snubby for carry, I wouldn't mind having a .40 or 10mm either...

I'm a fan of the 45ACP but it has plenty of limitations. The first time I ever shot a 45acp I was probably 13 on a gravel road somewhere. we decided to shoot it at a stop sign at say 20-25 yds away. Out of a rifle none the less the ball ammo would just bounce off and not go through.

As far as the 9mm goes mine is loaded with 147gr Hydra-shock.

I also had a 380LCP You can laugh at me for carrying a 380 but it sure was nice to carry. I'm about to buy a SIG 238? If I find a good deal.

This is my Grandfathers 1911 (1918 Colt) and my uncles 45 long Colt. Both of them have passed on and I have inherited them. I have the Receipt on the 1911 from when my grandfather bought it in the 40s. it was $12.50 with $4.50 to ship it by train to the train station that he had to pick it up at.

As far as the 45LC it's not really one I'd try to carry. :laugh5:

I'm a sucker for the old colt anaconda's... there's just something about .44 magnum that fascinates me.

I've been aiming my next purchase at a Taurus M444 ultra light snubby for quite some time. It seems that every time I have the $600 in coin to rub together I spend it on something I need over what I want ... I tell ya', these 'first-world-problems' are going to be death of me... Hah!

When I was younger, I believed that too...because the gun-related media constantly tells you that you need to be carrying a 1911 chambered in .45 ACP in a Milt Sparks or Mitch Rosen holster if you want to survive an encounter with Mr. Badguy.

No offense, but as you get older you'll find yourself reevaluating your carry gun and caliber, and you'll figure out that what the majority of gun-related media tells you that you need isn't necessarily what will work best for you.
