donovanl12 Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 How can I explain this. The neighborhood kids take frozen finger mullet and throw it out in the water and catch bowfin/mudfish, cut their line, then kick the fish in the water. Then they say how they catch wayyy more fish than I do. I'm there with my lure/soft plastics and I catch maybe 2-3 bass per 5-6 of their bowfin. Then they say how I spent $130+ on my rod/reel when they have old plastic rods that work better. How can I win this argument lol. (This is not serious, I know I can just ignore it, but I've known these guys for 10 years, I just wanna mess with them.) Just chime in on points I can make in my arguments lol. Quote
M-D Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 My first point would be something like... anyone can catch bowfin with cut bait but it takes real skill to catch bass with artificial baits. 2 Quote

mod479 Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 We got these types up north too...so annoying to share a spot with someone you'd like to kick in the teeth isn't it? Making fun of $100+ combos? Jealousy is one stinky cologne... Quote
mod479 Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 On a less serious note, if you wanna mess with them...beat them at their own game. Go get some cut bait and show em how its done...they wont like that. Quote
Super User grimlin Posted June 20, 2012 Super User Posted June 20, 2012 Tell them to learn to handle the fish correctly. Seriously? Cutting the line isn't doing anything but hurting the fish. not cool....... Quote

RyneB Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 you need game. My wife was a ritzy upper class lady. Every guy who tried to date her would take her to dinner and wine and dine her. I simply asked her if she wanted to go boating with me. That included fishing, she had never done it before and it broke the ice. No awkward dinner talk or anything, just good old fishing and a few beers and laughter. Quote
