Fat-G Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 As most of us are cleaning out our tackle, re-organizing, etc, we're all making mental notes of what we need to restock and what new tackle we want to try this year. What are some of yours? Quote
Shimmer Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 I've never thrown a big swimbait. Thus, this year I will be working with swimbaits. As far as restocking, Stanley Jigs with a Reaction Innovation Sweet Beaver. And all waveworm products in sweet potatoe pie color Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted January 9, 2010 Super User Posted January 9, 2010 Last season I boated a ton of bass on soft swimbaits. This season I will continue using them, as well as my new hard swimbaits. Falcon IS IT SPRING YET???? Quote
Hot Rod Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 I plan on trying out some of the LC pointers this spring for the first time since I've heard so much positive feedback on them. Restocking will consist of various T/Crig weights/hooks, P-Line floro (8,10,12,15#), Jewel jigs, senkos (especially 4"), cut-tails, beavers, blade baits (sonar and XPS) and some spooks. That is if I have any money left over after buying a case of 2 stroke oil to feed the beast this season. Dang that stuff is expensive! Quote
Bass Junkie Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 I'm looking to pick up somme better jigs ad swim jigs, other than that probably some craws and dropshot junk....... I'll second Falcon. WHERE IS SPRING???? > :-[ Quote
RyneB Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Basically just restocking my plastics like zoom lizards, rage craws and such. Last year i made it a point to try jumbo worms more often and i was dissapointed, caught 2 fish all year on them. This year im gonna try and do a lot more cranking. I have so much success on swim jigs and zoom lizards that its hard for me try other things. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 9, 2010 Super User Posted January 9, 2010 My main focus will be fishing the new Rage Tail soft plastics. The line up is innovative, awesome and I have had great luck with everything I have tried! Where to start? Smokin' Rooster, Shad and 10" Anaconda. http://www.ragetail.com/ Quote

Stingray23 Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 I plan on using crankbaits more often. I had some success late last year and I'm starting to gain more confidence with them. I also plan to use swimbaits more ofthn too. As far as restocking? well, I'm gonna pick up some more of the usual. Grubs and tubes. Quote
Primus Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 I'm going to try to do the opposite with my soft plastics, the attempt will be to use up a lot of what I have and except for certain key baits not restock at all. Unfortuneatly the hardbait addiction especially cranks is uncontrollable and I 've already have added to my collection this winter and by springtime I'll have plenty of baits ready to make their debut. Some of the baits I'm anxious to try would be the Black Dog mini Shellcracker, Spro Little John Deep Diver, some new colors for Lucky Craft Staysee & pointer jerbaits, new colors for Lucky Craft RC cranks, Brian's wood cranks, Rapala Dt Thug and the retrying the DT 20 because I had 2 and lost them right away. Plus there are a few baits yet to purchased that will be getting a workout. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted January 9, 2010 Super User Posted January 9, 2010 At a fishing expo today, I scored some Mattlures soft bluegills, and some Sebile Magic swimmers. Never tried either. As far as re-stocking, I've been upping my selection of colors of the whole Rage lineup for a while now, because I love them all, but the real excitement for the year, are the new rods and reels I upgraded to this year. First time Shimano user. First time Revo user. First time Daiwa user. 2010 will probably be a year to remember, at least bass wise anyway. Quote
90x Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 only thing on my list are masses of jigs and bunches of trailers. 2009 was the year of the jig for me. Quote
topwater.va Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 This year I am trying to use sweet beavers, Shakey heads, and jig in the upcoming year. Quote
A-Rob Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 I'm buying (in order to work on): Cranks & Dropshot gear. I got the texas rigged soft plastics down not bad or a spinnerbait, those were all I'd fish haha. Quote
central.PA.bass Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 i always run out of 4" Junebug Senkos... so i need to stock up on a bunch of those.. in the early spring.. they cannot be beat... a also need some more green pumkin/ purple flake Yum Lizards.. also some watermelon red baby brush hogs.. i can never have enough of these 3 baits.. Quote
BassShephard Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 I have a bunch of new baits to try this year, Want to get a bunch of soft plastic bait like sticks. I tried wacky rigging for the first time back in the summer which was great, caught some decent size fish but later in the summer they weren't as productive. Tubes are another thing I use for the first time they were small tubes used for Bluegill and Crappie... they worked well I caught a lot of Redbreast, Bluegill even caught a large amount of LM Bass. Need to restock grubs, get bigger tubes, spoons, and a bunch of other stuff I don't really need lol. New cranks are last on my list cause I have some (most of them are 20-40 years old though lol) I want to try some new cranks! Quote
Super User Catt Posted January 10, 2010 Super User Posted January 10, 2010 I've heard from a very reliable source that some new Rage Tail products are in the prototype stages Restock? Gene Larew, Terry Oldham's jigs, & Rattle Head Spinner Baits Quote
SWMIBASSER Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Beavers, soft jerkbaits, chigger craws, hard bluegill swimbait, and old school ribbon tails. Probably a few Fuzz E Grubs for those times when you HAVE to put some fish in the boat and they aren't biting. Quote
Nkybassfisherman Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 getting a new baitcaster. probably going to be a bass pro shops pro qualifier matched with a 7' St. croix mojo MH. Restocking?? Finesse worms, some more hard jerkbaits, rattle traps, and probably a bunch of other stuff lol. Quote
SkilletSizeBass. Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 I've been looking at a new spinning reel, I've got $150 in BPS gift cards, and I'm looking at either the new shimano ci4 or the stradic fi2500. I've ordered a couple new zoom/wec cranks so far,a couple Big M's custom cranks, some Risebacker lipless. And may order a couple Jawjackers and another wec and a couple silent lipless, either megabass silent, jackall or an evergreen buzzer beater silent. Its the best thing about winter...buying lures and restocking ;D Quote
