bwell Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Hi everyone, I was wondering if I might be able to get some help. We are taking a family vacation to Miami, we are staying at Calusa Country Club,it looks like its near Kendell. I am looking looking to take my father and brother in-law fishing, and was wondering if there are any good guide services in the area for either bass, red fish, tarpon ect... I wont be able to bring any of my gear because we are flying so using a guide with all the gear is needed. Any help would be appreciated. Matt Quote
Shane Procell Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Matt, Redfish, Snook... Captain Benny Blanco www.fishingflaming.com Great angler, stays booked, if you can get him you did well. Tarpon.....too many to name, sure someone will jump in on Tarpon Bass....there are alot of bass charters as well. One of my favorites is Billy Bob Crosno. I donot have his website but I have his phone number if you need it. I would throw my name in the hat but I can not accomodate three anglers. If i can help you in any way to find a guide just let me know. Quote
bwell Posted June 19, 2012 Author Posted June 19, 2012 Thanks Shane I will have to check this people out. The first website you gave me isn't working though.... Quote
bwell Posted June 19, 2012 Author Posted June 19, 2012 I just got off the phone with my wife and I guess everyone wants to go, which would be 8 adults and 3 babies. I really don't think we can find anything that can fit that many people without being on one of those HUGE boats with 30-40 people fishing at the same time. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted June 21, 2012 Super User Posted June 21, 2012 If it's a drift boat to accommodate that many people I would check about the babies. Anything short of a heart attack they don't come in if someone gets ill or seasick. Quote
bwell Posted June 21, 2012 Author Posted June 21, 2012 The babies definitely are not going anymore... And I wouldn't be surprised if it was just the younger people going (four total). My sister in-law is kinda dead set on deep see fishing because it would be a rush I guess, I think she thinks shes going to catch a marlin or something lol. I wouldn't mind deep see fishing, but I just don't want to be sitting around waiting for a bite and have the captain setting the hook for me. I am wrong about what deep sea fishing is, or is it different than that? I guess I don't want it to be the same as salmon fishing in a charter... You just sit in a seat all day and wait for the pole to bounce and have the captain set the hook for you... Quote
GLADES Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Down here we have deep sea fishing...charter boats and around $100 + per person. They go well offshore in search of the bigger varieties of game fish. You sit in the chair, and you troll for the most part. We also have drift boats. They operate closer to shore(usually within sight of land) and typically fish the reefs for snapper, tuna, kingfish, dolfin, etc. They usually run $40-45 per person. You get a rod and reel to use, and the mate will bait your hook...the rest is up to you. If you have never fished in a large body of water..the ocean...make sure you pick a day that is not excessively rough, otherwise you will definitely test to stomach. 2-4 ft chop is usually good. Super User SirSnookalot Posted June 22, 2012 Super User Posted June 22, 2012 A 4' chop on a 60- 80' drift boat can be a bit rocky out there, but that's the best fishing conditions. Rule of thumb, west wind =flat water, not ideal fishing, east wind= a chop, better fishing conditions. When the water is flat I don't go on a drift boat, I will however go on a private boat as we look around for current more than party boats do. Yes...........drift boats do catch sailfish. Quote
bwell Posted June 22, 2012 Author Posted June 22, 2012 I called Capt. Dean at doubledcharters and he said he can get 4-6 six of us out for sail fish and some theres using live bait in October. Has anyone ever heard of this guy? Quote

Has anyone ever heard of this guy? Yes...... Capt. Dean is a top shelf Captain. He stays on fish. You'll be glad to charter him. Quote
bwell Posted June 24, 2012 Author Posted June 24, 2012 Awesome thanks Shane. If me and my brother in-law can get away I'll get in contact with you to do some inshore fishing if you can have us. Quote
bwell Posted September 6, 2012 Author Posted September 6, 2012 I didn't end up going with Capt. Dean because he was just to far from Kendall. I ended up booking a charter with Lady Pamela, they seemed liked they knew what they were talking about and have great reviews. My other question is, is there any inshore charters close to the Kendall area for Peacock bass or redfish? I have only seen the big charters that cost an arm and a leg. Quote
salmicropterus Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Alan Zaremba is the man for peacock and he works in that area extensively. He can accomodate 3 people but probably not more than that. www.floridapeacocks.com. He is great with kids too Quote
Gotfishyfingers? Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Lady Pamela??? Their are out of ft. lauderdale, That is pretty far from Kendall. Quote
bwell Posted September 6, 2012 Author Posted September 6, 2012 When I googled it, it was the closest one I could find, and when I called they said they were only 20 minutes away. Quote
