I Think I Need Help

So last night I was fishing and I was using a lipless crank bait tennesee shad. The last cast I made it just had hit the water and WHAM! Something grabbed it and started running. I yanked back and my medium heavy rod was at almost a 90 degree. My 30# braid was starting to make noises and it was getting harder and harder to reel. That fish must have been a monster. But, sadly I will never know because I woke up.

So, if anyone knows of any good BA's (Bassaholics Anonymous) please let me know. I enjoy fishing a lot, but not to the point where almost every night I'm fishing in my dreams. Seriously, I can't remember the last time I didn't have a fishing dream.

I still remember one beauty on the Rappahannock River that jumped and threw my Chatterbait.

How about the large lady on Lake Chesdin that spit out my crankbait by the boat, as the other guy fishing with me sat in his chair eating his sandwhich and not getting the net.

Then my two buddies lost really big ones. The first was on Lake Chesdin when he was fighting a big one on his RICO and the line snapped. He told me the line was about a year old.

The second happended on Lake Anna when my buddy was fighting for his life against a big woman when he pointed the tip of his rod towards the fish. This is a no-no. And sure enough, the line snapped.

On Lake Gaston I nailed a big one that started swimming to deep water and towards the boat. I could not turn her and she went under the boat, snapping my line and taking one of my favorite crankbaits with her. For all I know, she is in Chicago by now. The guy I was fishing with nailed another big one at the same spot a few minutes later and he won the Big Fish Pot in my club for that year.

So keep having those good dreams. The more experience you have the greater the probability you will have nightmares.

Aha, a few weeks ago, was fishing a pond with a little 1/4oz square A. Bass grabbed it and just peeled out line, started fighting it and line broke. Tied on another crank, bam fish on. Broke off again. This time I saw it's belly....Good golly miss molly! Tied on a split shot rig and the dam thing broke it off too!

LOL. It would have been a good dream if I had got to see how big and what kind of fish, but I woke up to early. Yesterday George and I were getting plenty of bass but most were small. He couldn't tie a darn knot to save his life yesterday for some reason. The last fish he hooked fought like it was going to be easily 4lb but his know came undone so we'll never know.

I should be so lucky. I woke up sweating a couple nights ago. Had been working at my part-time job. Maybe I need to work less and fish more!

I thought about teaching either that one, the improved clinch knot, or the reverse clinch knot. I've recently started doing the reverse clinch knot. It's so easy but strong. The problem is that he's 21 years older than me and has bad eyes. Which means he's too stubborn to let me tie it for him and I'm concerned that if I try to teach him with me only bass fishing for 7 months and him since he was a kid, then he'd get miffed.

Not to brag but I catch bass in situations that he says can't be done, catch them on a worm color that swears isn't any good, and get most of my lures out of trees when he'd give up and lose his lure (not including breaking his rod over his knee). Point being, that while I am still a novice in most areas of bass fishing, I've passed him up in knowledge because he still holds to old wives tales and such. So, a novice teaching some one who's been fishing for 40-ish years.......I'm not sure that would go over too well. It shouldn't bother him because even the pros will tell you that bass fishing is a never ending learning process.
