Super User clayton86 Posted June 17, 2012 Super User Posted June 17, 2012 To all the dads on the site Happy Fathers day Quote
Super User Sam Posted June 17, 2012 Super User Posted June 17, 2012 X2. Big responsibility being a dad in our current environment. Many situations develope that we did not have to be concerned with when we grew up. Of course, if we go out with son and his family I get stuck with the bill. But it is worth it. Maybe this year we will go to Burger King!!!! Quote
Bassin' gal Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 I hope all of you dads have a blessed Father's Day. Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted June 17, 2012 Super User Posted June 17, 2012 My wife's thought on this Father's Day . . . . . A-Jay Every year, in mid June, I find myself unknowingly navigating away from the card isle at the store. After these many years have passed, my heart breaks knowing... I will not be making my Dad one of my crazy Father's Day cards again this year. Until a few years ago, I did not know that he & my Mom kept every card I ever made. My Mom gave them to me... my hands tremble to even hold them much less read through them. I have yet to do it. They still sit, untouched. I am not 100% certain why I save them. In honor of Dad's world wide ~ I pause, reflect & remember my Dad this Father's Day. May peace be in your heart & soul Dad ~ Love, Your little girl Quote
Super User grimlin Posted June 17, 2012 Super User Posted June 17, 2012 My kid got me a card and a winchester Knife that says #1 dad.....kids can touch your heart when nothing else can. Then, as he was walking out, he asked if I had any extra toilet paper. I said "why, you gona sht on the way home?" He said "no, im out of TP at home." So, aside from the 100 bucks, he also took 3 rolls of TP home. Kids are Grrrrreat!. Quote

NoBassPro Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 So here's my Father's Day story. My dad calls me up this afternoon, says my grandfather totaled his car and is in bad shape, can't remember a thing. The way it was described to me I thought he had a stroke or something. So, a little later after my wife asking me which hospital he is in, I call my grandfather. He's in his 90's and still lives on his own in the Upper Peninsula, his place is not really the place to be if you aren't somewhat independent. Anyway, here's the story I get from him. He was backing out of his driveway and apparently started to turn too late, he doesn't really remember the part between starting to turn and ending up upside down. At the end of his drive is a very steep hill. So, basically, he backed out a little too far and ended up rolling his car down a steep hill. The not remembering the chaos part is perfectly normal. He sounded strong and healthy, was kind of laughing about it, I think it took him back to his younger years. It was actually the best I've heard him sound in a few years, and was a good father's day gift for me. At my house, my oldest boy(3) decided he was no longer scared of my boat and my 1 yo and 3 yo were fighting over a crankbait I received. All in all, one of the best father's days yet. 1 Quote

Super User Long Mike Posted June 18, 2012 Super User Posted June 18, 2012 At my ripe old age, Father's Days don't mean much to me, except this day was somehow a little special. I received a well wishing text from a daughter who was flying back from Hawaii, got to visit with another daughter and grand-daughter on Skype, got to visit with my brother and his wife who live in Chile' (again on Skype,) got to have lunch with another daughter and my bride of forty-two years, AND went to Bass Pro and bought a huge new tackle bag. All in all a great day - but the wife doesn't know about the tackle bag - yet. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted June 18, 2012 Super User Posted June 18, 2012 Hey Mike, My wife is from Chile' and has several family members living there. I wonder if they know your family members. Sht, I hope we aint related by marriage. Quote
