Capt.Bob Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Well it kind of did but was given to the sustain. The rarenium and the sustain are the same pricepoint. Sustain has more bearings and an aluminum frame, the rotar was the only thing to get the C!4 material. All European reels Asian wherever have some variance and are not the same as the USA reels, that is why they are different models. Kinda like a Corvette is not an Impala but the are made by Chevrolet! Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted June 16, 2012 Super User Posted June 16, 2012 I was under the impression we were talking about xship..not the intricacies of each reel. Quote
bowjunkie76 Posted June 17, 2012 Author Posted June 17, 2012 I ordered a Stradic FJ. I wanted a shimano and had not researched it and after I did I like it. If anyone is looking for the supreme XT I will see if he still has it and pass on the deal. Just let me know if interested. Thanks for all the opinions. Quote
jerzeeD Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 I have the Pflueger supreme and patriarch in 35 size...Both fine reels. Your 80 dollar price on the Supreme is a great deal on a fine reel. But, the patriarch is a REALLY sweet reel. Tough call there. Quote
PABASS Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 I still use my Shimano Stradic (ST-2000) to this day, I got this guy way back still works like new. Maintain it and it will work for years and years to come. Quote
RushFan2112 Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Why not consider Daiwa too? The tierra is a nice reel, the fuego is even better. I have both and use them religiously.... x2! The high-end Daiwa reels are the smoothest and are incredibly durable, but come with a high price tag. I have two JDM Daiwa Bradia's in the 2500 size that are the absolute best reels I've ever used. You can find them brand new on the big auction site for about $150. Also, look at the Caldia and Fuego. I also just picked up a Daiwa Aird at BPS and must say that it's the best $80 reel I've ever used. Quote
Bigbarge50 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 I had a Stradic CI4 and got rid of it, It was plenty light but felt cheap to me and was not as smooth as my MgFB's, after I found a very unbiased review on the new FJ series Sradic's, I bought the new FJ 1000, I am very impressed and am sure it is a better reel!!!! If I were you I'd save some cash and for about $50.00 less than the CI4, I'd buy the New Stradic FJ 3000 same size as the 2500 but holds more line and even though it's 2 oz. heavier than the CI4, it is much smoother, more powerful, and has more features with the dual supported mainshaft, the X Ship is very noticeable!! The new Stradics really are back on top of the spinning reel list, the X ship really is noticeable, more so bringing in larger fish!! Read this I did and am glad I tried one, I will in time replace all my other stradics with the new FJ series! It is smoother than my Sustain FE. http://www.tackletou...ostradicfj.html Street price is about $135.00 New. Can not agree more about the new stradic..... I looked at so many others to avoid paying that much for a spinning reel, then just said screw it when I had it my hands..... best spinning reel I have ever used. Well worth the money IMO Quote
