A-Rob Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 I fish this hole, heavy vegetation, extremely clear water (20 foot visibility type clear). In the shallows I was smokin' the bucketmouths with rubber buzzfrogs, but I'd go thru packs of 'em at a time and wanted to switch to a burning a buzzbait. Any recommendations for size/color for such clear water? Thanks in advance. Quote
rowyourboat Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Sounds like a good problem to have. In clear water, I always have success with natural colors (brown, greens, etc). Also, maybe going smaller with the lure would help Quote
flipinstick88 Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 I recommend a 1/4 to 3/8 oz. buzzer without a skirt. Quote
Randall Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Silver single blade with a clear skit with silver glitter. No paint on the head. I like 3/8 and 1/4 oz baits. No skirt works well also. Quote
A-Rob Posted January 7, 2010 Author Posted January 7, 2010 Nice, I was trying to decide b/w a clear or white type skirt vs a brown/dark realistic skirt that would blend into the forage more than the white. Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted January 7, 2010 Super User Posted January 7, 2010 I agree with Randall. The clear/translucent skirts with silver works well. That's what I use on my spinnerbaits also. Falcon Quote
