Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 13, 2012 Global Moderator Posted June 13, 2012 My Zell pop! It's the smaller size in the ghost color, cant' find them anywhere around here. It walked so nice and barely moved towards the boat so I could really aggitate a fish with one or make it look like a really easy meal. I took it off a rod on Sunday and set it in the boat somewhere and couldn't find it by the end of the day I'm afraid it may have blown out because of the 20+mph winds. I really hate to lose a bait like that. I've got the same size bait in the foxy momma that I found at the BPS in Springfield but it's just not the same yet. If anyone is at Melvern Lake, KS and finds a Zell pop that looks like this, I'd be more than willing to pay for shipping plus a reward. Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted June 13, 2012 Super User Posted June 13, 2012 I found a couple on ebay, about $15 with shipping. 1 Quote
RyneB Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 im sorry for your loss. I had a Pop R fly out of my boat. I have got the same color pop r, but like you said. Its just not the same. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 14, 2012 Author Global Moderator Posted June 14, 2012 I found a couple on ebay, about $15 with shipping. You can still order them I know but it's the history that bait had and it just had "it", you know, the fish just couldn't turn away from it once they started to commit to it. It's like that crankbait that wobbles just a little different from the rest that you pull out when nothing else is working. Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 14, 2012 Author Global Moderator Posted June 14, 2012 http://www.lurenet.c...alibur-zell-pop Yeah I know where to find them, but like with anything mass produced, they aren't all the exact same. That bait had that special something that very few baits have that just catch fish. I'm just going to have to order a couple of them and hope I get another one that works as good as it did Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted June 14, 2012 Super User Posted June 14, 2012 Dude, I feel your pain, I had a Pop R tuned just right, to the point that I liked it better than my best Rico, or straight from Japan Yellow magics (I kid you not), and now I can't find it!!! I didn't loose it fishing, I've turned the house/garage and boat inside-out 3 times, I am so bummed, It had a great balance, and that one glass rattle sound. I find no matter the brand, every so often you come accross a special popper (or crankbait). Now you've made me cry!!! Quote
ks cranker Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 You'll have to pay a little more then just shipping if I find it this weekend... ha! Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 I feel your pain. I had a Bandit 300 beat all up that worked great. None of the 3 others of the same color and size work as well. Quote

ks cranker Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Like I said I'd be willing to pay a reward for it too. I'm just messing with you. If I find it, it won't cost you a thing! Quote
central.PA.bass Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 If it was that good, you may have lost it for good brother! Its probably in the bottom of a 10+lb largemouth's gut! Quote
detroit1 Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 I know that there are popper gurus out there, but i just don't get it. I don't think bass could care any less if it spits this way or that. And i know a bass doesn't care what i think . If a bass wants to eat, i don't think he'll refuse your bait because it doesn't sound or act just so. Who knows- maybe someday i will understand, but not now... Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 3, 2012 Author Global Moderator Posted August 3, 2012 Good news! For anyone paying a lot of attention I just recently bought a deep cranking combo and have been trying to figure out the tricks to fishing those deep running baits. Well I was digging through my deep diving crankbait box and what do I uncover? My Zell pop!! No idea why I put it in there but man was I happy to see it! I just got my second backup bait in the mail today so now I have 2 extras and my allstar probowler popper back! Now I just need to get my 50E topwater reel back from getting supertuned and the water to cool down a little bit so they'll start eating a little better and maybe I can get it back in some action! 2 Quote
Jig Meister Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 I understand your elation! Glad it worked out, I hate when you loose the golden gun lure. Quote
Gangley Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 glad to see you got it back. Loosing a good lure can be rough because most times its the intangibles that made it a good lure. Glad to see you got it back. Quote
Captain Obvious Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 There are just those baits that have the "it" factor. Glad you found it man! Capt.O Quote
