i ask because that happened to me today and i have been feeling beyond bummed, frustrated, embarassed, and disappointed. the power went out over night therefore my alarm didnt go off and i woke up to 3 text messages, 2 missed calls, and a voicemail from my partner. just curious if this has ever happened to anyone else?

I missed prefishing once for the same reason. Moral of the story, always have a backup alarm or 3. I usually set 2 alarms and my phone a few minutes apart. That way even if the power doesn't go out it doesn't give me a chance to hit the snooze and fall back asleep before the next one goes off.

yea thats what i usually do but for some reason this time i didnt and i cant for the life of me figure out why. i had some friends say its ok it happens it was just a club tournament. its still very important to me and makes me look bad now.

Need to condition your "body clock". I have never over slept for anything, not once, and I don't use an alarm clock.

In business when a customer wanted me there at 7:am I was waiting at 6, I was an hour early if they wanted me there at 4 am, which happened often. In my single days, we'd be out all nite drinking like a fish, eating hash browns and eggs at 4 am, drive to the golf course ready to tee up when they first opened.

My dad used to wake me up real early to go fishing as a young boy, that developed my body clock to get up when I needed to, still holds true today.

Funny how that works im the same way I usually set an alarm but it never gets to go off I always wake up 15 minutes prior to when it was set for. Kinda sucks some times when I want to sleep in but still wake up at usual times I used to getting up at. Like here on deployment i will get a day off try to sleep all day and catch up but wake up at 1045 for chow regardless then ill go back to bed and then wide awake again at 1645(4:45) for dinner i could just passed out from all day missions exhausted at 1030 1045 hits and im wide awake getting dressed to get food.
