jesse-c Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Hey guys! I am trying to gain an edge on fellow competitors by adding swimbaits to my arsenal. Problem is I live in KS and noone here i know of throws them. So i have no clue whether i should invest in them or not. We have good largemouth and smallmouth, with clear springtime water. Can you give me any tips on fishing them? Is the spawn the best, when they are on their beds? Thanks! Quote

Primus Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 I'm by no means a swimbait expert but I've done well in prespawn throwing hollow paddletail tube like the Basstrix or my new favorite by Pro Swimbaits in similiar situations where I would consider a spinnerbait. Also, in the summer and fall I've done well throwing the SK King Shad in low light conditions such as cloudy windy days when the fish are grass flats. Quote
nubasser Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 from January1 to Dec 31 but if they don't give off much vibration(most of these are sight baits)water clarity will come into play. Quote
brushhoggin Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 i have more luck down here in the south throwin em in March Quote
