Jake P Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 I am watching Adam richmans best sandwhich in America. He is the Man vs Food guy. He is going around the nation comparing sandwiches and its killing me. I love a good sandwich, especially when its something other than a regular ham and cheese. Any of you Northeast guys eat at Pramenti bros or katzs deli? If i had time and money i would make a roadtrip of it just to try them! Do yall have a favorite sandwich, or one that you like to make at home yourself? After Sam's post about fried snickers and now watching this show i am craving something out of the ordinary! Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted June 9, 2012 Super User Posted June 9, 2012 It's very, very hard for me to find a sandwich that I like more than a traditional Cuban sandwich. Soooo good. Quote
Scorcher214 Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 The resturant I worked at had a cuban sandwich with pork that we smoked ourselves, some ham and gouda cheese, that I loved. Gouda cheese, is the best cheese. Or a peanut butter and jelly. Extra crunchy peanut butter. Quote
senko_77 Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 My favorite sandwiches by far are made by a grocery store we have here called Publix. They are a pretty big chain, so I'm not really sure how far they go from the Atlanta area, but my gawd do they make an awesome sammich. I'm just like So Fla, I get a cuban everytime. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted June 9, 2012 Super User Posted June 9, 2012 my wife watches Food network 24/7 I cant watch half the shows they make me soooooo hungry. Im not a big sandwich guy unless its like grilled cheese and tomato soup or peanut butter and fluff man i would kill for a pb and fluff sandwich right now and some doritos to go with it mmmmmm and a youhoo to wash it down lol. Burgers are my thing though every where I go I order what ever specialty burger they have I love burgers Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted June 10, 2012 Super User Posted June 10, 2012 It's nice to have a deli sandwich every now and again and I too like Cuban sandwiches. BUT nothing, and I mean nothing, beats a well made pb&j sandwich. 2 Quote
Super User Sam Posted June 10, 2012 Super User Posted June 10, 2012 Louisiana po boys. Outstanding!!! If you visit New Orelans hit Serio's off Canal Street. Get a Barq's root beer, sit down, and enjoy heaven. Oyster loafs are outstanding, too. Google both if you don't know how good a sandwhich can be. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted June 10, 2012 Super User Posted June 10, 2012 Come to Chicago for an Italian Beef. We've had threads like this before. Being from Chicago I'm spoiled when it comes to food. So many ethnicities here to enjoy so many foods. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted June 11, 2012 Super User Posted June 11, 2012 I've had a Primanti Bros sandwich but it wasn't from their original location. It was meh. I'd love to have one of those roast pork sandwiches. They look awesome. I am fond of all sandwiches. Lately I have been enjoying a good deli near my workplace that has gigantic cold cut sandwiches with authentic italian meats and peppers, oil, etc... I've also been known to enjoy a cuban sandwich every once in a while, barbecue, ham, roast beef, chicken, turkey, etc... I love them all. There is no such thing as a bad sandwich, only varying levels of goodness. Quote
SmokeRise1 Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 We have a pretty good deli in my town. They make a breakfast sandwich called "the gutbuster". It is a 12" sub roll with 2 fried eggs, 2 hash-brown patties, about 6 slices of Taylor Ham (pork roll in South Jersey) and melted cheese. You can also get it with bacon or sausage or both or all 3. If you finish it in one sitting you'll know how it got it's name. Quote
Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted June 11, 2012 Super User Posted June 11, 2012 Reubuns all day. Specially when its got corned beef and pastrami stacked on it. I have tried one in almost every sandwhich shop in Alabama. It is my all time favorite sandwich ever. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted June 12, 2012 Super User Posted June 12, 2012 I'm thinkin' chili cheese dog! Mustard, relish and white onions. I prefer tatter tots as a side. Quote

It is my all time favorite sandwich ever. I totally forgot about that, we ran a corned beef/pastrami sandwich for a little while it was my favorite thing at the restaurant! Better than the cuban we had. All it needed was some bacon a Gouda cheese. I think everything could use a little bacon to be honest. Quote

Why'd you have to go and post this? Now I'm gonna have to swing by Publix and pick up a Cuban. I don't know what it is about this sandwich, but the ones in the cooler are usually better than the fresh ones. Quote
plumworm Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Cold roast beef, yellow mustard on a hunk of crusty french bread with a glass of cold milk. Nuff said. Quote

I have tried one in almost every sandwhich shop in Alabama. It is my all time favorite sandwich ever. If your in St Pete try the Grouper Ruben at Harvey's 4th street, it is awesome......They make great sanwiches all around, their traditional ruben is good too. Turkey expresss...mmmmmh Quote
NoBassPro Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Best sandwich I have had was a simple crab sandwich. Nothing more than fresh crab and mayo I believe. Locally, i prefer Italian subs with hot peppers on them. Quote
jkarol24 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Up here in Rochester, NY we have the BEST burgers due to a little known condiment known as meat sauce. Essentially, its ground beef, chili powder, onion, allspice, and other fine ingredients (think greasy chili minus the beans plus more heat). So yes, this means that we put a meat condiment on top of meat. I'm to the point where i cannot order a burger or dog outside of Rochester because no one even knows what meat sauce is; the hamburger experience elsewhere is frankly not up to par. And dont even get me started about the garbage plates (its sort of a sandwhich...). Essentially, one puts 2 choices of : fries, homefries, mac salad, potato salad, or baked beans in a takeout box, tops that with 2 meats (my choice is cheeseburgers) and then gets covered in ketchup, onions, and lots and lots of meat sauce. DELICIOUS!!! Quote
tmier Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Reubuns all day. It is my all time favorite sandwich ever. You guys would love the Dolphin Rueben at The Big Chill in Key Largo. Mahi Mahi w/ mango slaw n 1000 island on toasted rye. I ordered another to go... Quote
tate Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 I didn't care for Pramenti Bros. (hope that doesn't violate the no negative vendor post rule) ..... I didn't care for the fries and slaw topping off the sandwich. One of my favorites when working in NYC is the pastrami sandwich at the Carnegie Deli on 7th Ave in Midtown. Second to the Carnegie has to be the BOG from Oliva's Italian Market in Milford Ma. BOG is an Italian cold cut sandwich name after the owner Babe Oliva Grindaa. My own Muffaletta sandwich on homemade bread is pretty dang good also. Tate Quote
Stone Cold Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 The day after thanksgiving.... Leftover turkey on a fresh Kaiser roll with some mayo... Yumm...... Quote
