Ever had deep fried Snickers bars?

They are fantastic!

Here how to do it.

1 cup flour

1 cup whole milk

1 egg

3/4 teaspoon baking powder

Pinch of salt

2 tablespoons sugar

Combine everything together and if the mixture seems thick add in a couple more dashes of mild.

Cook in 360* oil for a couple of minutes.

Believe me, it is well worth the effort.

Sam, I am well known for my themed Super Bowl parties. One year the theme was, "If beer batter sticks to it, we can deep fry it."

Snickers are good. Butterfingers are better. Snack size is the way to go. One thing that really surprised me was fried pear slices. I serve it to guests as dessert with ice cream. It rivals homemade apple pie.

Yep they have them at the fair around here along with fried twinkies and other candy bars.

Nope.

Just take them as they are, put them in the batter, put a stick through them, and away you go.

J, great suggestions. I will try them. Thanks.

Sam, the only difference is I use a tempura, one egg, one cup flour, and instead of water, sub about 2/3 beer.

When Deep Frying any item it is always a best practice in the Restaurant biz to use either beer or soda water in your batter mixture. The carbonation will allow your breading to be light and flaky, not thick and heavy. If you don't want the hint of malt and barley use the soda water. You'll be very pleased with your hush puppies going forward

There is a bar just south of Lansing, Mi. that is known for their deep fried Cheesburgers. Yep, I said it. Bun, lettuce, cheese, mustard and all the fixins. From a heart attack point of view = epic no no. From a Man perspective = MMMMMMM GOOOD

Of you want to hear about someone eating a heart attack, one of my old buddies dad used to smear butter on a block of cheese and eat the whole block at once with a Budweiser. Made me sick just watching.
