cfout4050 Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Ok I hear great things about this stuff. I JUST purchased a Plueger Supreme 8230mg and a Fenwick Elite Tech 6`9" esms69ML-F this will be paired together. I wanted to use 6lb for drop shot and shaky presetation. My question is do I want ULTRA SOFT or REGULAR ? I can get both at bass pro I wanted Green in 6lb but no luck only clear but thats okay. I also thought about spooling up Fire Line Clear and try that in 6lb. I really like the 6lb for this application I will of course use KVD Line And Lure for this. Any suggestions are welcomed. Super User BrianinMD Posted June 7, 2012 Super User Posted June 7, 2012 For spinning go with Ultra-Soft, regular works very well but Ultra-Soft is a little more manageable on spinning gear. Quote
Jake P Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 I never was a fan of ultra soft. I use 6-8 on my spinning reels and will probably never use anything else unless yo zuri stops making line. I would suggest using original. Quote

Super User LgMouthGambler Posted June 7, 2012 Super User Posted June 7, 2012 For spinning its got to be Ultrasoft. Quote
bassin is addicting Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 for spinning.... Ultra Soft..... no doubt Quote
MrSwimJig Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Both work very well, but the Ultra Soft is the better choice for spinning gear. Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted June 7, 2012 Super User Posted June 7, 2012 Wow. Not a lot of help. Posts claiming each is the only way to go. Choose Sufix Elite instead. Or try some 20 lb. braid. Your choice should be clear as mud now. Quote
MrSwimJig Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 Ah yes 20lbs braid! Really up to you and what you like. All the lines mentioned will work very well. But Yo-Zuri is by far one of my favorite lines. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted June 8, 2012 Super User Posted June 8, 2012 I use that same reel for my pond fishing, I would not consider anything other than 10# braid, you can pick the brand. Quote
Dr. Watson Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 Ultra soft for spinning! it's capabilities are enhanced greatly with KVD line and lure too. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted June 8, 2012 Super User Posted June 8, 2012 Try both Ultra Soft and original Hybrid, the line is inexpensive. Then you can decide for yourself. I used to recommend Ultr Soft for spinning tackle, but have moved back to original Hybrid simply because it appears less visible to me. Green Hybrid blends almost perfectly in gin clear water; Purple Smoke in stained water. Quote
