Is combining the rage tail chunk with a northstar jig a good combo or is it better to keep the rage tail with say a strike king jig?

Just a guess but the fish dont know if your using matching brand trailers so I would say no.

Sounds like a great match! I prefer to throw Netbait Paca Craws on my NorthStar Jigs, but SK rage are a great option as well.

Back to your questions though and this came up in another post yesterday. Mass produced jigs such as Strike King or Booyah are going to give you the fits because they are not hand tied; they are simply put together with a rubber keeper. You will have continuing durability issues that you would not experience with other custom jig companies such as NorthStar, Seibert Outdoors, etc.

The fish could care less wether your jigs and trailers came out of a strike king or netbait or berkley labeled packaging. They can't read and they dont know which costs more. As long as the color and action matches what they want, they could care less. You on the other hand have to deal with quality issues when they arise so the best thing to do is to purchase quality tackle that lasts. By purchasing Northstar jigs, you're on the right road.

I agree the fish don't care what brand jig or brand of trailer. But a Northstar Jig with a Rage Tail Chunk is a pretty deadly combo in my book.
