Bass Dude Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 The Shark Knot looks really big and doesn't look like it would work too well used with a t-rig. It looks like the weight would really pound on that big knot or you'll have to use a lot of the head of the bait up over the eye of the hook to cover up the knot. Also, with all the additional tag ends, I would think it would attract weeds. I use the palomar knot for most applications. I've started using the snell knot for flippin' my straight shank hook-t-rigs, which I use 95% of the time. Once you learn to tie it, it's a very easy and quick knot to tie. Quote
Dr. Watson Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 There's an app for that! lol....I tend to use and improved clinch for just about everything. Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted June 9, 2012 Super User Posted June 9, 2012 For braid i use a palomar but for fluoro/mono i 100% of the time use a san diego jam. Quote
G3Steve Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Just an FYI... Zona's shark knot = double clinch knot. Quote
Jiggen Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Modified Uni for fluoro. Just a uni 2 times threw the hook eye. Tested this knot against many. The line will break most times before the knot. Berkley Braid knot seems a bit stronger, but large and difficult to tie. Palomar for everything else. Quote
BassinMD Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 For flouro I tie San Diego jam, mono uni knot, braid palomar or snell Quote
