I am new to bass fishing but avid outdoorsman, I need equipment advice . Im looking at getting 2 shimano chronarchs for baitcasting and 2 shimano stradic spinning reels combined with carrot stix rods . Please help I want good stuff for the money . what do you think.

I think you got it down pat. The only thing I would change would be to use a Crucial rod for them.

Equipment at that level really comes down to personal preference IMO. Those reels should last a lifetime, and quality rods are a joy to use. Welcome to the bass fishing brotherhood and the forum.

I'm not too jazzed about the Carrot Sticks. Here are my suggestions:

Baitcasting:

G. Loomis BCR854 for jigs and weighted sofy plastics

St. Croix AVC70MM for treble hook lures

Spinning:

G. Loomis SJR843S

St. Croix LES70MF

Take a look at Dobyn's rods and call Gary to ask his advice for all around bass fishing choices.

My advice would be a 7', fast action 3 power and 4 power casting rods, 7' fast action 2 power and 3 power spinning rods.
