Super User J Francho Posted June 4, 2012 Super User Posted June 4, 2012 ..when trying to comprehend what this fool thought he was trying to do by squeezing in to the right side of my boat at an intersection. I was turning right, and had my signal on. Thanks for ruining a perfectly good day, moron. He actually backed into the police cruiser when he left! He said he was trying to squeeze in, and didn't see my turn signal. Yeah, those bright LEDs are hard to miss. You don't see this every day! Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted June 4, 2012 Super User Posted June 4, 2012 that sucks John I hope you were heading back from the water not headed to the water it doesn't look to bad damage wise. Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted June 4, 2012 Super User Posted June 4, 2012 Looks like he missed the boat itself. From the photos it looks like no serious damage was done. Backing into the police cruiser was a nice second act. Sounds like his head was elsewhere, and it is pretty clear where, but since this is a family forum I won't say... Hopefully it won't take long for the repairs to be completed. Good luck. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted June 4, 2012 Author Super User Posted June 4, 2012 Shouldn't be too bad to fix, but he did get the boat too: Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted June 4, 2012 Super User Posted June 4, 2012 Hope everything gets repaired quickly and correctly. Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted June 4, 2012 Super User Posted June 4, 2012 I like that boat. Hope that makes you feel better? Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted June 4, 2012 Super User Posted June 4, 2012 Crazy Rochester drivers im telling ya....lol Quote
Super User Lund Explorer Posted June 4, 2012 Super User Posted June 4, 2012 So was this some elderly gent, or just your run of the mill mullett wearing Wal*Mart type patron? Where's his picture? Quote
Super User J Francho Posted June 4, 2012 Author Super User Posted June 4, 2012 After I verbally abused him, he hid in his car. He was a dippy guy in his late 50s, not elderly at all. He wore painters clothes, and was driving on a restricted license, which says "DUI" to me. He was "out there" and maybe huffed too many paint fumes. Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted June 4, 2012 Super User Posted June 4, 2012 Oh crap, that was your trailer I hit! J/K, I hope all turns out well for you JF! Quote
Ima Bass Ninja Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Man that stinks...sounds like his license needs to go from "restricted" to " suspended". Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Sucks. What a freakin idiot! He had to be on something. Quote
jeremyt Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 That sucks J, any time frame on having her back? I hope it's not too much of a hassle with insurance. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted June 5, 2012 Author Super User Posted June 5, 2012 His insurance took responsibility. I have been assigned a claim rep/adjuster to the claim, but haven't heard from them yet. Quote
Nice_Bass Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Wow...that really does suck, I would be worried about that axel- hopefully your adjuster just gets you a brand new one and not try and get it fixed- may be going through a new set of tires every month if that is the case! good luck with it all. Quote
Super User Sam Posted June 5, 2012 Super User Posted June 5, 2012 Get the boat repaired by a reputable repair shop and hold to the cost. Don't let the auto insurance company try to take depreciation off the payment. Do not sign any releases until you have the boat and trailer repaired; the motor checked; and you take the boat out for a trial run to make sure all is OK and there are no leaks. Make sure the trailer is not bent. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. On the good side you are OK and we learned your first name is John! Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted June 6, 2012 Super User Posted June 6, 2012 That sucks.Well if your going to be boat-less for a while, come down and fish with me. Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted June 6, 2012 Super User Posted June 6, 2012 That sucks... people just make you scratch your head sometimes. That is a sweet boat by the way. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted June 6, 2012 Author Super User Posted June 6, 2012 That sucks.Well if your going to be boat-less for a while, come down and fish with me. Thanks man, that's super generous, and something I'd like to do regardless of the boat situation. Thanks to the rest for the well wishes. The claims adjustor has been really cooperative, though slow. I think that's more of a learning curve thing - they don't see very many boat collisions, and it's not like I need the boat to get to work. Quote
mrmacwvu1 Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 I think I see your problem. You are driving in Yankee land. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted June 8, 2012 Author Super User Posted June 8, 2012 Pirates, Indians, and Phillies are all closer than the Yankees. This guy was from the west coast, just sayin'. Quote
mrmacwvu1 Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 anything north of the ohio river is yankee country to me Quote
Super User J Francho Posted June 8, 2012 Author Super User Posted June 8, 2012 At least our state flower isn't a satellite dish! Just kidding, man. Quote
