bocabasser Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 last night we had our meeting to see where the king of the glades classic would be. the 5 choices were holey lands, sawgrass, the big turnaround, belle glade and clewiston. clewiston was the location that was drawn out of the hat. we were boat 17 out of 20 and we knew right where we were going to go. last saturday my partner and i found some good fish and decided to go back and roll the dice. what a great decision that was, because we had 25 pounds in the boat by 11 am. we actually got tired of catching 4 pounders and decided to go check out another area. the other area was junk so we headed back to our original spot. second cast back and we banged another 7 pounder. needless to say we stayed there for the rest of the day. we ended up winning the tourny with 33.26 pounds with a 9.22 kicker. second place had 22 pounds and third had 21. what a great day it was! 2 Quote

bocabasser Posted June 4, 2012 Author Posted June 4, 2012 thanks everyone. it was a special day. when my partner hooked the 9 pounder, i thought it was a gator. the wake this thing was pushing and small bass, bream and shiners were scattering trying to get out of the way, i didn't even get the net. when we saw the fish we both freaked! it was just and amazing day. every single fish came on topwater---everyone of them. last year we had 27 pounds in the classic and came in fourth. we honestly thought someone had more weight. the lake is still hot and with 2 1/2 days left of school, i will be going quite often. salmicropterus Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Great job and glad it was up at the Lake instead of pounding 12"ers down here in the Glades. Quote
