Super User Bassn Blvd Posted June 3, 2012 Super User Posted June 3, 2012 Dark Shadows- 3/5 stars. I was expecting something different than what the movie really was. It was comedy/horror, but not scary. Nothing really like the original t.v series. Johnny Depp was very good and out acted everyone else. I didn't mind spending the 20 bucks on tickets for the wife and me. Battleship- 1/5 stars The previews for this movie started more than 6 months ago and I couldn't wait for it to come out- looked promising. The wife and I went to see it tonight. I was dissapointed. The acting was HORRIBLE. Even the popcorn was bad. Liam Neeson was the most experienced actor but his scenes were limited. I believe Chuck Norris could have done a better acting job then most of the cast. Save your money, not even worthy of pay per view. Wait for HBO. Next week will either be The Avengers or Snow White and the Huntsman. Quote

Look forward to hearing what you think about it. Is nice to know I can cross battleship off my list though. Quote

GLADES Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 Battleship had the look of a cheap bad movie. Too much hype and SE. Thanks for the reviews. Quote
Ima Bass Ninja Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 The avengers hands down! That was a awesome movie not just action packed but funny too. My wife hates superhero movies but she owed me one after I watched the hunger games (yawn) with her. She hasn't stopped talking about wanting to see the avengers again. 1 Quote

Do you guys sneak your snacks in, or do you pay 12.00 for pop corn and a coke? Quote

We just go to the local theater where its $11 for two tickets, two cokes, and a large popcorn with free refills Quote

Do you guys sneak your snacks in, or do you pay 12.00 for pop corn and a coke? I use to sneak my own SnowCaps in but I've been buying at the theater lately. We go to City Place in downtown WPB. 10 bucks per ticket, 16 bucks for the popcorn combo, which is a LARGE popcorn and 2 LARGE drinks. Free refills on popcorn and soda for extra 3 bucks, which I don't buy. Who and the heck can eat that much popcorn and drink that much soda. Basically it's 40 bucks for a movie (pluss dinner). City Place now has ASSIGNED seating. You choose your seat when you purchase your tickets. Quote

NoBassPro Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 SW Michigan. Thats only on Mondays, though, otherwise its $14. The small town theaters are much cheaper than the multiplex's in the city, but your viewing options are more limited. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted June 4, 2012 Super User Posted June 4, 2012 I saw the Avengers, if it wasn't for the fact the movie was in 3D, it would have been a waste of good fishing time. The Florida prices are pretty much the same as the ones in the Detroit area. The Paladium in downtown B'ham is still the nicest modern theater I've been to. That said City Place is quite the "outdoor mall", it's a great place to go. Quote
MrSwimJig Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Snow White and the Huntsman was really good movie. The huntsman was played by Chris Hemsworth. Glad I didn't waste my money or time on Battleship. Quote
