Boatless in the glades Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 Does this look like a good deal? cant seem to find a good electric motor/ trolling motor bundle with out spending alot. Im trying to get a little jon boat going hopefully. http://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/boa/3042346604.html Quote
Super User slonezp Posted June 2, 2012 Super User Posted June 2, 2012 If it works it is. New batteries alone are at least 80 bucks a piece. Quote
Boatless in the glades Posted June 2, 2012 Author Posted June 2, 2012 How long would both batteries last me fishing with a 12 foot jon in the everglades? With two or three people in the boat and minimal gear Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted June 2, 2012 Super User Posted June 2, 2012 There are too many variables to even make a guess. The age of the batteries and the reserve capacity of them along with the age and amp draw of the trolling motor will make for a lot of variation in how much time you would get. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted June 2, 2012 Super User Posted June 2, 2012 If the btteries are good, all day. That's only a 12v motor. If you buy it, make sure you wire the batteries in paralell, not in series Quote

GLADES Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 You will get stopped in the glades, they patrol the canals. Just pay the fee and no hassles. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted June 4, 2012 Super User Posted June 4, 2012 Braver man than me. Don't think I'd want to go out in the Glades in a small Jon, and I've got big brass ones... Ive seen them gators. But if you're hell bent on it, I can sell you a 12 footer with a title locally for a pretty cheap price. Needs some work, but hey, it'll be cheap. Nothing you can't do without some basic hand tools. Quote
Boatless in the glades Posted June 4, 2012 Author Posted June 4, 2012 Ive been out there in a 17 foot canoe with 2 friends and no engine, didnt see one gator though. The seller already sold that motor, now i need to find another cheap one. If i can find one cheap enough ill get two batteries from basshunter954 and find a charger somewhere. EDIT: basshunter954, could your sister sell me a battery charger? i was looking at this ad http://miami.craigslist.org/pbc/boa/2996281205.html Quote
BassHunter954 Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Honestly bps has a prowler tm for I think 100bucks and yest she will sell you to batteries and as of chargers you can go to harbor freight or walmart and get a float charger for dirt cheap and just charge batts. Ovrnight before the day you go out so they will be charged fully. Or cl has batt. Charger cheap probly my pops my have an extra charger laying around at his job ill check and see if he'd sell one if you want. Quote
