Scorcher214 Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 My friend took me to a pond that only residents that live around the pond can fish. It was a semi deep gravel pit but was made deeper a few years ago. As soon as I got to the shore I saw a bunch of bluegill zoomin around and plenty on beds. So, i puled out my photo finished rapala of a bluegill. Thought I got a bite on my first cast and set the hook but didnt feel anything moving. As soon as I started moving the line, that's when I knew I had a good one on. She jumped a few times and when I got her to the shore there were atleast 3 more bass of the same size trying to steal the lure out of the other bass's mouth! And another one.... Caught 6 more with 2 other ones that got off. All were about that size. My friend on the other hand caught about 15 crappies, and one bass about as big as my hand lol. But this was one of the best days of the year size wise. Quote
QUIENYO Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Nice fish! Now you need to get your friend to catch some big ones as well so he will bring you back whenever you want. Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted June 1, 2012 Super User Posted June 1, 2012 Congrats on the day! Keep at em! Jeff Quote
Scorcher214 Posted June 2, 2012 Author Posted June 2, 2012 Sad part is I can only fish there when she is there. Gotta live in the neighborhood around the pond or know somebody that does. I know somebody that knows somebody but she said I still can't. I think she just doesn't want me to catch all the fish lol. When we were there though nobody said anything to us so as soon as I can put some gas in my tank Im gonna go back. Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted June 2, 2012 Super User Posted June 2, 2012 Keep fishing with "her" for sure!!!! Jeff Quote
Big-O Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 WTG and sounds like a "REEL" Girl friend to me Those fish are healthy looking too! www.ragetail.com Quote
Dinky Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 Nice bunch of fish, Scorcher. You can always take your 'friend' to St. Clair for some smallies and maybe she'll keep taking you back to the pond. Quote
Scorcher214 Posted June 3, 2012 Author Posted June 3, 2012 I would take my "friend" out on st clair, but a lack of a boat is in the way. All of my fishing right now is from shore, except when I go out in my kayak. Hopefully I can get some more hours at work and start saving for an aluminum boat. Quote
Super User Sam Posted June 4, 2012 Super User Posted June 4, 2012 A girl! You were taken to a private pond by a girl? Glad you outfished her, too. You have to ask her out to dinner and maybe a movie and then go back to the pond. Bet her that you can outfish her at the pond again. What you bet is between you and her!!!!! Quote
Scorcher214 Posted June 4, 2012 Author Posted June 4, 2012 Right? She also wants me to help her picking out her first bait caster! Sadly, she has a boyfriend at the moment but, he can't fish like I can. I went with the two of them to one of my spots once. He got bored and just sat in the car and me and her fished. Fingers crossed gentlemen! Quote
