They'll hit the 20' mark on 10lb and a long cast.

I was at Academy yesterday, the 6XD's were mostly sold out. Could be an indicator that they are a hot bait locally right now.

They are great baits and pretty cheap too, just replace the hooks before you go fishing.

Productive cranks, I've bought a few dozen and have had a couple fill up with water. Since they are relatively inexpensive I'm willing to overlook the occasional dud. My opinion on Strike King overall is they've hit some homeruns with the design of some of their recent offerings such as the Red Eye Shad, 6XD etc but their quality control could be better.

Another vote for them. I don't fish cranks a lot. Just don't have much confidence in them. The 6xd and 7xd are the only ones I've really had any consistent luck with. My go to cranks, for sure.

I'm a 5 & 6 XD fan also -

Haven't heard of the 7XD yet though ?

Oops, sorry. Like I said, not a big crankbait fisherman. I was confusing the Bombers with the Strike Kings. I do use both the Bomber and SK in the 6 sizes, and both work well. But obviously the Bomber is what I use in the 7 series.

You should contact strikeking, there are lots of people who have had defects with lures on here and they get them replaced with no charge.

I appreciate the tip, whether I do it probably depends on what's involved and how long it takes to see if justifies the time involved in replacing a 5$ bait.

Cool, just needed some inputs...i'm not a big crankbait guy, but do throw them never had any success on deep divers though.

Fished the 5XD and they are the real deal. They are smallmouth killers. I like that they are 5/8oz and have a slightly smaller profile then the 6XD. The hooks are 1 size smaller. The smallies seem to get them in there mouths better the the larger hooks. The bait will go 15 foot no ploblem on 10lb. The one issue is the paint job is inconsistent. There baits are either made in China or Costa Rico. The 5XD's that I have seem the better paint jobs are from the made in China baits.
