Super User Sam Posted May 30, 2012 Super User Posted May 30, 2012 Jacob, get the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries Freshwater Fishing in Virginia publication and look at the various locations to fish in Virginia. You can also ask local tackle shops where you can fish local ponds and lakes. Start saving for your boat!!!! Quote

Kyle Mahaffey Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Got some on FT Belvoir. Some spots people only fish for cat fish. The better spots got lilley pads all around them. I love it when they say, "they ain't biting." But then you throw some top water bait to get them stirring then throw some shakey heads and they destroy the bait. Quote
bigbasshunter Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 If your restricted to a tolling motor, I would check out occoquan park. It's a no wake zone, can be fished from belmont marina to the water discharge south of the launch. Lots of docks, channel swings and flats close to deep water. And its one of the only places if you get too hot you can always go for a swim. Good luck and tight lines!! Quote

bigbasshunter Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 Technically speaking you are not allowed to enter the water unless from private dock or from a boat. You could probably wade the park side (Fairfax county) but with the channel your looking at having to cross 9-12ft deep water to reach the prince william side. Quote
Kyle Mahaffey Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 I will most likely stick to the park side. I bet they got a few fishing holes over there. Quote
