RyneB Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 i have been looking into a used glass bass boat for awhile now. My local marina had a 2000 Ranger R81 with a EFI 150 in really good condition. They were asking $10,000. I thought that was a little high so we started negotiating. After about 30 min of talking. He offered me $11,000 out the door. I asked for 2 Humminbird 597 CI HD DI units, new leather on the seats, taxes, and my first 2 years they will winterize my boat free of cost. And he agreed. This boat was in very good condition. In a lot better shape than some of there 2010 and up used boats. So, did i get a good deal? Or did i take it up the shorts? Quote
BassHunter954 Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Cash? Or finance? If cash you could of just made a ride to fl an got a 05 nitro or a 05 triton for 11k cash beautifull boats seen in person an wow is all I can say. Quote
jeremyt Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 For what you got, I don't think that's a bad deal. Did you get any kind of warranty / guarantee on the motor? Either way if you are happy about it that's all that matters. Quote
RyneB Posted May 30, 2012 Author Posted May 30, 2012 no warranty and i had to finance it. The previous owner was a outboard mechanic and kept the outboard in great running condition. Quote

MN Bassin' nOOb Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 It's an ok deal. I've been looking at used boats for a solid year now, and have seen a boatload of the non-Comanche '98-02 Rangers. I'd say your price is pretty typical of asking prices that you'll find on Craigslist. Some R81, 83 or R91 93s go for around $9-10k, some even lower, at least here in MN. Quote
