The truth isnt determined by whether or not anybody believes ya. The truth is the truth. You know if you caught em. And if you caught em, ya caught em. NOTHING else matters!!! Hootie Quote
Scorcher214 Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 I'm going to wait for a good sale and give them a try this year or the next. My only worry is toothy critters. It's the main reason why I don't buy lures that are pricey. If a bass breaks one off Im not mad at all, if pike bites it off...well that just stinks. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted May 30, 2012 Author Super User Posted May 30, 2012 I just picked one up on eBay for 9 shipped a LC pointer 65 SP in table rock shad. waiting for a few others to end as well to see if I win them. Quote

Bigbarge50 Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 I buy from a guy on ebay who is very solid and sells a lot of good quality stuff. I also never look at a LC not in a box. I do think some LC's are very, very worth it. The cranks, wake baits, and pointers are well worth it. Sammy.... it is a matter of opinion. Is it that much better than a spook or other walk the dog type lures? Not so sure. I am undecided myself, but I know many like both. When it comes the prop baits, poppers, and lipless cranks.... I would say no. I think the prop bait is not as good as a devil's horse or even a torpedo. Simply see no advatage there. Popper..... would go with a chug bug well before the LC popper. Would go with a a Pop-R before theirs as well. Heck even a hula popper seems to provide as good of a pop and splash. The lipless..... again would go rattle trap, red eye shad, and a rapala one knocker before I would pay that much for a bait that (outside of hooks) that does not give something better than those. I change out all hooks except for LC's (some would disagree) so hooks are a big part of the value, but I would contend that the three I mentioned (lipless, popper, and prop) I think their product is not superior to much, much cheaper lures (assuming you go with good hooks). The cranks, while I also like Bomber and Norman, bring their own thing to the table, much like the pointer, so if your curious it is worth checking out. Quote

I just won last night 3 NIB LC pointers for 29.00 plus 4 bucks shipping not to shabby I think. Im waiting to get the email from my wife when all the boxes show up over the last 2 days iv won 22 auctions all crankbaits plus bought some off the flea market here......... oh i wish i could see the look on her face lol Quote
NCbassmaster4Life Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 You can find some great deals, i'm just not a believer in the LC brand yet, I still need to understand how japanse lures are tied in with america? Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 I use to be against spending that much but the LC cheaper in the long run then finding alot of the cheaper ones that actually work without tinkering. They also work and run very well. I only use the pointers and have yet had a bad on like many of the other brands I've tried. Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted May 31, 2012 Super User Posted May 31, 2012 I think that the short answer is "YES". Especially spring in the Ozarks, the tournament record of Lucky Craft Pointers can't be ignored. I don't know much about all of their crank baits, but I am a big fan of the Pointers. Quote
LuckyHandsINC. Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Pointers and sammys are both well worth the money. Quote
Super User bigbill Posted May 31, 2012 Super User Posted May 31, 2012 All lures work at onetime or another. Its not the lure its how perfect your presentation is. Our presentation has to be spot on. I fish the same smaller places each year and i notice whats hot this year may not be as hot next year. I change my lures often. Now with price, does it really matter? My local tackle shop had spook copies for $2 on clearance. I chose the off colored orange spook. One morning when it was slow i threw it. I caught 5 bass right away. Cheap lure that worked. Its mainly the presentation and color too. I have some LC topwater lures and they work great. If ou look at the luhr jensen peacock bass lures the LC is scaled down smaller and it running backwards from the luhr jensen lure. Hmm? BTW; the LC lures are probably the most expensive lures i own. Super User clayton86 Posted May 31, 2012 Author Super User Posted May 31, 2012 oh there's no doubt that cheap lures work i have a bunch and its all my nephew throws he buys everything with can deposits he goes and returns all his step dads beer cans then heads straight to the clearance section at walmart hes got alot of no name and cheap lures and alot of times will out fish me just don't tell him I said that lol. im just lacking in the crank bait department and stocking up and figured why not add some LC. detroit1 Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 If anyone wants to get rid of their "ill-running" baits please send them to me. Quote
tennsopher Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 A few years ago,my buddy and I were fishing a lake known to harbor large bass.I found a shad wiggling on top of the lake as it had been hit.I told my friend "If I could find a bait that matches that coloration I could wear them out."Answer lc dvr 10 in american shad .From this one lake I caught 20 over 7-10 lbs that year.Nuff said. Super User Hooligan Posted June 1, 2012 Super User Posted June 1, 2012 Over 80 8+lbers on the flash minnow. LOL okay Bill Siementel. Heh, I just caught this. While I appreciate the flattery, Bill and I are definitely not in the same class. He's more along the lines of close to a thousand fish over 8lbs. I'm nowhere close to that mark. Quote
