are Lucky Craft baits worth all that money? with my new found love for ebay iv been eyeballing em up if i can get good deals but even on there they go for full price or more. are they really any better then a fraction of the price Bandits, SK, Normans, Manns, Storm, Rapalas.

To me nothing works as good as a Norman, but if you can get a good deal on L.C.'s it's worth the purchace.

Hmm...

Why would you pay MSRP or more on e-bay? Lucky Craft has lowered their

retail pricing significantly over the years and are generally available

at a discount if you are patient and shop for "deals".

As far as "value" is concerned, LC lures are far superior to amy of the

generic names. Components and craftsmanship are top notch and every lure

I own performed flawlessly right out of the box. Of special note are the

LC Pointers, the best jerkbaits I have, comparing favorably even to the

Megabass Ito Vision 110.

im not paying msrp im simply watching and waiting then ill pull the trigger on some. I wait till I see a good deal like the huskey jerks I got 3 NIB for 7.50 shipped iv bought a few lots on there all pretty cheap but there few and far between all the lucky crafts start cheap and go up at the last minute i thought i had some pointers in the bag for 19.50 4 of em with 15 minutes left i went to the bathroom came back and i lost the auction and they went for 50+ shipping.

Buy the LC. You will not be sorry. Just make sure it's not a knock-off. Been a big scam concern as of late.

I love Pointer 100's and 78's but I will never buy them off ebay because there are a lot of knockoffs that come from that site. I have some knockoffs that work well but the difference between them and the Pointers is the way they suspend which I believe is what seperates LC from all others. The Pointer minnow has the largest temperature range in which they suspend, the EEratic Shad from Xcalibur is a gret bait in the high 40's low 50's but the Pointer works from the low 40's throught the mid 50's and suspends better than the rest with no modification right out of the box.

Worth every penny in most aspects. Especially as Kent alluded to the pointers they're every bit as good as the Megabass version. The RC2 square bill was the best SB crank that I've ever used and I've used them all.

How do you tell the knock offs from real on there the ones I have bid on were still in the package so I assumed they were real.

Imo some are worth it, some not so much.

A few that I can't live without.

Gunfish. A lot of ppl love them but there are better baits of this style IMO. (Rico suave)

Just to throw something out there. How do the Diawa db, dr minnows stack up to the LC pointer in your guys opinion? IMO they run true out of the box, have a great finish and run in the temp ranges stated above for like a third of the price. Diawa blows the competion out of the water for product performance versus price, now that is worth it.

The Diawa DB series is priced low because they break very easily without notice and it isn't uncommon. I've had the bills break on just the cast and out of 7 baits I have none left that aren't broke. I haven't used them in awhile but my friend had the same happen last year so I doubt they got any better.

Mine haven't broke, and the guy that recommended them to me I am sure he hasn't had trouble with them. I guess I will stick by them until they fail me then I may consider a pricier option. Thanks for the input.

Performance wise did u have any issues? How did they stack up catching fish and running(when intact) in the water to other baits because I honestly like it better than a bomber suspending or any suspending rapalas and would say it is as good as the LC maybe just behind but for the price I can't beat it(yet)

I would recommend them to the op, try to get some cheap and see if u like them before u drop ur cash on the pricier stuff.

Is there anything as good that are more cost efficient than the LC pointers? Just trying to play devils advocate here because they do add up 18 bucks a pop ain't cheap for that I can almost get 3 Diawas in 3 colors and I haven't seen a bad review on some major websites.

Buy only from recognized, reliable retailers. It doesn't have to be from a big-box store, just be certain they're reliable. The genuine LC baits will always have the bait name painted on them in LC's script font, as well.

I caught my second largest smallie on a Bevy, have well over 80 8+lb fish on Flash Minnows, and have caught more smallies on Gunfish than I ever have the Rico. Different strokes for different folks.

In very short answer, they're worth the money. I have never had a bad LC bait, whereas I get about 1/3 or so from other manufacturers. Many of those 1/3 simply can't be tuned, either. I've had a LOT of baits that way from SK, Norman, and others. I still continue to use others, because they're right for conditions, but I will never give up LC's because of price.

Heck, right now, for instance, you can get the RTO baits from Bass Pro for $10.77, that's cheaper than SPRO, that's cheaper than IMA, cheaper than Jackall, cheaper than a lot of baits; some of which simply don't stack up to the LC's at all.

I third the Daiwa baits breaking, especially anything with a bill.

The pointer has an action that other jerkbaits just don't have. The X - Rap has caught just as many bass for me and has a wilder, more hard cutting action. However the flashy finishes and rattles of the pointer get lots of attention in dingy water or windy conditions. The in between action of the pointer falls between and X - Rap and a Rattlin' Rogue. It feels a perfect niche.

So yes, they are worth it.

Gotta agree with RW 100% on this one. I only wish I had spent my money originally on mor LC stuff. Fantastic lures. Though there is a new company that ive been doing some testing for that is coming to the US market that I've found to be better quality at a better price.... Come ICAST, you'll probably hear the name a bunch.

LC is offering higher quality components for a higher price so if you look at it that way then yes it's worth it. But for me personally I would rather have 3 lures for $15 than 1

In the long run they aren't that expensive compared to say a Senko. At 8 bucks a pop with an average of a fish per bait you're only catching 20 fish per $16. I've got LC with the paint worn off they've caught so many fish. They might not always be the best option when they're eating cranks but a lot of the time they seem to be. The pointer 78 is my favorite jerkbait made.

On a more apples to apples comparison, they do cost more than the low average name brand $3-5 crank, that still performs (catching fish). That being said, are they worth it to me? No. Would it be worse if I lose a $10+ bait over a $3 bait, yes. I do good on the cheaper brand. It's mostly preference when you ask individually. All hooks wear out, rust, or break with use, same with paint.

As long as you are not worried about losing them and fish them in structure where the bass live you will not have a problem.

If you are worried about losing one then you will have more fun with a Bandit.

I love my RICOs but only use them for tournament fishing and with fresh line. Never lost one so far but am very cautious when I fish them.

Same with my other expensive baits.
