I don't normally join forum groups, but since i don't have anyone to teach me or i can talk to....well here i am. I just started fishing a year ago and just started fishing for bass 6 months ago. believe it or not i caught my first one a couple of days before christmas. i live in a community that has a nice lake, but there's no boats allowed. so, i'm stuck with bank fishing. i've done well, but it doesn't give me a chance to figure out jigs or pitching/flipping. with the exception of 1 on a hula popper, 1 on a spinnerbait, 5 on a zara spook, all the rest of my bass have been on soft plastics. i can't seem to break away from soft plastics.

i've caught 118 bass this year. to some that's not a lot. for those who don't fish much it does sound like a lot. i would like to eventually get into local tourney's and later go pro. so, i know that my numbers per day aren't up to par and neither is my weight (for the most part 1/2lb to 2 lb each). i've got a lot to learn and more experience to get under my belt.

however, bass fishing is my passion. i've accidently caught 2 catfish on plastic worms, one crappie on a chartreuse grub, and i've also fished for bream, but i'm much happier with a bass at the end of my line. thank you guys and thanx Glenn. i hope to learn so much from here that i can help others on the forums.

favorite rods: shakespeare bass rod/spinning reel (combo kit) and quantum lite rod/baitcasting reel ($19 at pawn shop).

favorite line: 8lb on spinning and 12lb on baitcasting (with 30lb braided leader if using a spook or popper).

favorite lure: black zoom trick worm (caught more bass on it than any other and good for any weather and all hours).

favorite rig: simple 1/8 oz bullet weight, 3/0 or 4/0 ewg hook. cast and pretty much just bounce it across the bottom back to me.
