Shimmer Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 This could be beneficial to more people than just myself, because I know many of us recieved some gift cards. I have $150-$200 to burn..here is some info. I'm full on stick baits, spinners, flukes and jigs. Could use; Shallow Cranks Buzzbaits (mine are AWFUL) Jig Trailers, large soft plastics Tubes A few top water Swimbaits Looking for suggestions on brands, models, colors ect. Feel free to suggest anything though. Quote
-nick- Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Definitely get some Cavitron Buzzbaits. A few different sizes and colors and some back ups. Cranks I'd get a variety of Bandit 100 series. Couple packs of rage tail toads for top water. By trailers did you mean jig trailers? If so a few different colors of paca chunks and baby paca craws. Quote
bocabasser Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 pick up a couple of pointers. i like the 78"s in ghost shad and tenessee shad. those are fish catchin machines. Quote
hmongkidBee Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 hey you should buy some of those strike king sexy swimmers. Of all the swimbaits in that class size that's the most affordable swimbait that can catch fish of all sizes. This is my swimbait of choice. Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted December 27, 2009 Super User Posted December 27, 2009 For shallow crankbaits: 1-Bomber Square A 2-Bomber Balsa B 3-Norman Mad N 4-Rapala Shalow Shad Rap 5-Strike King Series 1 I agree with the Strike King Sexy Swimmer. I did well this Fall with mine. Falcon Quote
EastTexasBassin Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 I'll 2nd the recommendation for some cavitrons. I caught a crapload of fish on them this past year. For the jig trailers and large soft plastics you've gotta try the ragetail Lobster. Lobster jigs have caught most of my bigger fish in the past 6 months. (like the one in my avatar) For topwater, the ragetail eeliminator has been a lot of fun. You can skim at along the top, and then slow it way down for a wide wobbling sub-surface retrieve. This has been great in and around surface grass and mats. Quote
Bigbub Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Hey man, pick you up some Lil' John cranks! Quote
shutupnfish Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 For shallow cranks and top water the H2O brand at Academy, if you've got one nearby. I've got 'em both and to me they're hard to beat less than $5. Steve Quote

angler1 Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 A great shallow crank bait - sebile makes one that dives 1 to 2 feet and you can never go wrong with a mann's baby wake bait that dives 1 to 3 inches. Quote
angler1 Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Jig trailers - paca and sweet beavers are excellent. Quote
