I bought a Verdict rod last yr because i wanted to pair it with my other premier reel. I loved the rod the first couple of times i used it. I have not been able to use it much since then because of my work schedule. That being said two weekends ago i was fishing in a tournament at Lake of the Ozarks when i went to set the hook on a fish the Verdict rod broke in 3 places. It was a 4lb fish. Lucky for me i had a great partner with me and we managed to get the fish in the boat. That night i emailed Abu Garcia about what happened and still have not heard anything back from them. I have emailed them again and still nothing. I have 2 veritas rods that i really like and have had no problems with them. I hope i hear back from Abu soon. Hopefully i just got a bad rod. I love Abu products but this is my first time dealing with customer service. Sorry for the long winded story but i wanted to ask has anyone else had bad luck with the Verdict rods, and if so did Abu Garcia replace it???

Same thing happened to me with my Verdict. I didn't have a reciept as it was a gift and they said send it back anyway. Ther waived the return fee since it was a gift and I had a new one in about 3 weeks. Call the number they have listed. They get thousand of e-mails a day so they could miss yours. They will address the problem ASAP.

I would call Pure Fishing, good bet they will send you a shipping label. Fill out the return form http://www.purefishing.com/sites/default/files/abu_garcia_product_repair_form.pdf

they are very accomodating, but they do handle the service for many manufacturers, be patient I'm sure it will work out fine.
