fowlskies Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 Picked up a new Abu C3 4600 at my local Dicks... It was on clearance and was the display model (that wasn't in the case just two weeks ago) so after the discount for being a display model it came to $36!!! They've never had the 4600 there only the 5600, all of a sudden one showed up in their display and it was their only one. I don't know if it was one they randomly found out back and put on the shelf or what but I'm a happy about it. Pumped, I think it'll be my new jig setup. Quote

jignfule Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 Gotta keep droppin in on Dicks, you never know. Quote
fowlskies Posted May 29, 2012 Author Posted May 29, 2012 Thanks guys. Clayton thats a great deal, always feels good when you can walk away with quality at a good price. I wish we would get a Cabelas or BP around me, but if you keep your eye out Dicks has some great deals once in awhile. Quote
jdw174 Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 I used to manage the tackle dept. in a Dick's store in PA. There would be items go on clearance all the time and I never knew when or what it would be. I'd just get a notice from the home office to clearance this or that. It pays to check in the store from time to time. Quote
coachdog Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 I try to check the local stores as often as I can. Persistance pays off. I picked up two Avid spinning rods (one last year, one last month) on clearence marked down to $99.97 from original list prices of $189.99 & $169.99. Both were then marked an additional 50% off and I had coupons for $10.00 off. Each rod cost $39.99. When you enter the date codes to register the St. Croix warranty they were manufacured two years ago. You have to check the rods closley when you come across them as some are shop worn and have guide issues and nicks in the blanks. Quote
