jeremysayshi Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Anyone have suggestions for a good braided line? I'm looking at 10-20lbs test if not more as long as it's light. I'm using an open face reel so it needs to be light until I can get my hands on another baitcaster. Quote
kylek Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 I hear lots of good things about Power Pro braid. It is pretty inexpensive too!! Quote
jeremysayshi Posted May 24, 2012 Author Posted May 24, 2012 I hear lots of good things about Power Pro braid. It is pretty inexpensive too!! That was actually my first choice when browsing...but wanted some more feedback. Know if SpiderWire is any good? Quote
Super User Marty Posted May 24, 2012 Super User Posted May 24, 2012 I've used 15# Power Pro and Fireline Braid with no difference that I could detect. Didn't have good luck with Tuf-Line XP, which kept digging into itself and wouldn't cast properly. Quote
Super User MCS Posted May 24, 2012 Super User Posted May 24, 2012 I have spider EZ braid 20 pound on an old Abu Cardinal 563 Used it three times so far. no problems so far, works fine, only problem was the lure slipped on a improved clinch..been using palomar and a little longer tag. I have been using a rebel popper on it. Guy at Bass pro recommended cuz he said it was decent, cheap and not a huge hit if my reel didn't work with it. Quote
jeremysayshi Posted May 25, 2012 Author Posted May 25, 2012 Well, that's 2 for Power Pro...good enough for me. :-) Thanks guys. Quote
buzzfrog Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 yea Prpo, suffix 832 is pretty bad@ss as well, i do use the infused fire on my wacky, pretty descent. Quote
