Bought a couple of backstabber lures and Jackall's IOBEE frog and used them yesterday while fishing Lake Okeechobee, I can tell you both were a disappointment. The frog lure was taking water on every other cast, the hooks were pointed a bit too far up so it hooked vegetation and the body moved up the line, caught about 10 fish before the lure ripped, the Spro still is better IMO. The Backstabber lip-less crank was equally as disappointing, The top hook would catch the line at times and if it caught any vegetation the lure's action was off. So save yourself the money and avoid these two products, says the bait monkey!

Thanks for the info. I guess my spro poping frogs are still the best.

Man I love the Jackall frog. I've got one that I've caught probably 175 fish on this year and it's like new. It's yet to take on water, and the hookups are the best I've experienced with a frog. I've not had any problem with them in mats, either.

I had my very first experience with a Jackall Iobee frog this morning: went out for 2 hours and caught 9 bass! Best hook-ups I've had on frogs. My "go to" frog was the Ribbet with a 4/0 hook, but I would miss about a third of them. Not so with the Iobee....only missed one hook set.

Of course, 2 hours of fishing doesn't answer the question as to the longevity of the bait. I'll have to just wait and see. At $13 a pop, I'm very careful with it when I unhook it from a bass's mouth.

The Ribbet would last about 5 bass before it gave me issues of sliding on the hook.

I too have had success with the Iobee. Maybe you got a bad one?

You might have received a bad frog, happens. Send it back for a replacement. My IOBEE doesn't take on any more water than my Spro frogs, and I think the hooks set much better. I love the way it walks without having to trim the legs.

Why not use a Snag Proof frog?

As many of you know I am a frog fanatic, almost to fault, so I am pretty confident with the Spros, but after hearing the feedback I am willing to give the Iobee another try, just ordered some to see if it was a fluke.

I gotta disagree as well on the Iobee...urs had to be defective...the water seal is amazing on those...and they walk very well and downright catch em...I would HIGHLY reccomend the Iobee...

First bad review ive heard on the backstabbers. Alot of guys say they like em but I hadnt heard that about them around the weeds.

Best heavy mat frog? Rage Tail Green Pumpkin/White pearl.

Paired w/ 30# Fireline Fusion, and of course a 5/0 Owner hook. IMHO

I personally like a fast action medium power pole for more feel of the fight.

Live Target frogs are nice

Ditto- the Koppers Live Target frogs are beautiful and VERY realistic...They won best soft lure @ Icast.

The frog market's really boomed in the last few years...Evolve makes a nice one too. The Deps Basirisky is a great frog for a different presentation...it has the weird forward facing legs that makes it shimmy-swim like an old jitterbug almost.
