logger Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Saw cabelas has a clearence on strike king tubes. 72 bag for 35 bucks. Anyone use these or have knowledge of these baits? I plan to split them between me and 3 other guys but are they even worth getting? here's the link where I found them. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat21404-cat21406-cat21436&id=0037759120423a&navCount=1&podId=0037759&parentId=cat21436&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=OG&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat21436&hasJS=true Quote
marlboroman Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 nice deal, I wish they were lizards... I love me some lizard fishing Quote
Hawgin Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 I guess it just depends on what you like in your tubes. I like the SK flipping tubes and pro model tubes. The bitsy tubes probably have their purpose for smallies, but I have not found what they are good for. As for the wild thing, craw tubes, and lizards, I don't see the point. If I want a craw or a lizard I will fish those. My experience has been that I have a better hook up ratio with t rigged plastics than tubes, so I would rather fish those if I'm going for a craw or lizard imitation. I say you should by them, and push the lizards, craw, and bitsy tubes off on your buddies and keep the flipping tubes for yourself. Quote
Curado Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 They're definitly good tubes IMO. The only tubes I throw are Strike King and Hart. Quote
Rattlinrogue Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 I use the Bleeding bait flipping tubes by Strike King and have had lots of success with them. The Strike King and FLW(Manns) flipping tubes are my favorites. Quote
eastkybass Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 I have a bunch of them and have liked them so far. Good tube I like the way they act in the water. Quote
56 crestliner Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 I like the bitsy tubes for smallies in rivers. I also like there flipping tube they are kinda small but are a nice tube Quote
basspro48 Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 The bitsy tube is a smallie magnet in small rivers, don't know about those craw tubes and lizard tubes though :-? Quote
RockvilleMDAngler Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 After reading this post I ordered this set and it arrived today. For under $40 this is a phenomenal deal. I have been looking through the tubes and they all seem to be high quality. While I am hesitant about the idea of a lizard tube, the "lizard" part is just a hard head which would make for easier rigging. I can't wait until the dog days of summer when I can give these tubes a good test run. Quote
Super User Sam Posted March 8, 2007 Super User Posted March 8, 2007 Anyone try Hibon's Gitzit's? They do a great job for me. The silver shad can be a killer. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 The original post says '72 bag for 35 bucks', but the ad says 72 pieces for $35... Does this mean 72 individual tubes, or 72 bags of tubes? I read it as 72 tubes, no 72 bags...Big difference, get clarification from Cabellas before charging in... Quote
volpster31 Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 i found these same tubes in the dicks clearance bin for .47 cents a bag...theyre not bad but i havent used them enough to give a great review that cabelas ad is confusing because it doesnt clearly say 72 bags, but it has to be .... Quote
MarVaBC Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Its definitely 72 Tubes. They say "72 pieces of tube technology", which would be hundreds of pieces if it were 72 bags. Thats a random number...how'd they come up with that? Quote
Deuceu72 Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 A chance to plug my favorite tubes..............I use Crooked Creek Tubes 90% of the time........... ;D Quote
victory23 Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 no it is 72 bags because mine just arrived today Quote
Brad_Coovert Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 A guy in my club uses the tube lizards and tube craws on Carolina rigs all the time and does quite well. Easy rigging and good hooksets. Brad Quote
MarVaBC Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 OK, I stand corrected. Usually when they refer to "pieces" its per bait as in 72 bags times X number of baits. Quote
